Blackpool vs AFC Wimbledon – Blackpool Win

Blackpool have been a real mixed bag this season under Simon Grayson and they have become incredibly tough to predict. The Seasiders went into their match against Peterborough without a win in four games, yet beat free-scoring Posh 4-3 here at Bloomfield Road. This looks a little easier and the Tangerines will be expected to build upon their cup success against Morecambe. Having also been victorious in the EFL Trophy ten days ago, they are on a bit of a roll and should take some stopping here. Glyn Hodges has certainly made AFC Wimbledon into a more attack-minded unit, but the coach has neglected the defence and they aren’t keeping many clean sheets at the moment. They were defeated at the Pirelli last week and their collapse against Southend in the EFL Trophy in midweek was very worrying indeed.

 

Bolton vs MK Dons – Bolton Win

Keith Hill and David Flitcroft have done a magnificant job at Bolton since taking over and although the Trotters are still suffering from their points deduction, they have clawed the deficit back and are showing some real grit and determination. They beat Fleetwood in their last match at the University of Bolton stadium and they will give their all against MK Dons on Saturday. The visitors sacked Paul Tisdale and are now managed by Russell Martin. The inexperienced gaffer will be hoping that his side can bounce back from their disappointment last weekend, although it seems unlikely. He inherits a side that are lacking in confidence and it’s not an ideal situation to be facing a team who will ready for this battle from the off.

 

Rotherham vs Accrington – Rotherham Win

Rotherham have been difficult to catch right this season and the Millers have struggled on their own patch. However, they have a talented team and Paul Warne has found a way to get the best out of the hugely talented Matt Crooks. They’ve won three away games in a row, beat Coventry 4-0 here and they were successful in the FA Cup at the weekend. True, they did slip against Wycombe (who are excellent) and were narrowly defeated by Oxford, however, they should be good enough to see off poor travellers Accrington. John Coleman’s side lost at home to Gillingham recently and although they do tend to win when you’re least expecting it – this is a tough ask.
