Bradford vs Port Vale – Bradford Win

Bradford have slowly risen up the League Two table and another three points on Saturday kept their promotion ambitions on track. The Bantams have now won four of their last five games in the fourth tier and each of their last four home matches. The only blot on their copybook is their inability to keep a clean sheet and they conceded with ten minutes to go against Crawley at the weekend. However, Gary Bowyer’s side are scoring goals and they’ve now scored ten times in their last five matches. Port Vale were a little disappointing at the weekend as they failed to overcome Stevenage in Burslem. Vale are a very effective side in front of their own fans this season, although they don’t travel particularly well. They have lost four of their last five on the road and have conceded at least two goals in each of their last three away matches. The hosts should emerge from this one with three points.

 

Cambridge vs Grimsby – Cambridge Win

Colin Calderwood’s side were one of the bigger winners of the weekend with a thumping 4-0 victory over Exeter at the Abbey. They’ve now scored six times in their last two home games and they’ll be confident of racking up a couple against Grimsby. They’ve been in mixed form at home although the former defender seems to have got the best out of a number of his players in the last seven days. Jack Roles has been a revelation and the loanee will be looking to dictate things once again. Grimsby were surprisingly hammered by Leyton Orient at the weekend and Michael Jolley needs to get back to basics here. They’ve now lost three in a row and have conceded seven times. Worryingly, the goals have dried up, and they’ve failed to score in two of their last three matches. The home side could bag a second victory in the space of four days here.

 

Cheltenham vs Macclesfield – Cheltenham Win

Macc were back to winning ways at the weekend and picked up a rare three points on the road. Admittedly, that came against troubled Oldham at Boundary Park and this will be much tougher. Cheltenham are one of the best home sides in the country and Mike Duff’s men are incredibly difficult to beat in front of their own fans. They were victorious at the Bescott at the weekend and are undefeated since the end of August. They drew with high-flying Crewe in their last home matches and that was a decent result. Prior to that they’d netted eleven times in their previous four matches here and the home fans have certainly had plenty to cheer. With the ageless Luke Varney still leading the line effectively, the Robins should collect three points on Tuesday night.
