Bolton are struggling for away goals and Keith Hill’s men could find it difficult to register at Sincil Bank. They haven’t managed to find the net on the road since late November and drew yet another blank against Rochdale at the weekend. It’s a quick turnaround for the Trotters, who have been able to strengthen during the window and they could be in for a tough evening. The Imps were outclassed at Sunderland seven days ago, and picked up a 1-1 draw against Shrewsbury at the weekend. Their home form is fantastic and they are unbeaten at this ground since September 21st. Michael Appleton is yet to taste a home defeat and this is unlikely to be his first. Tyler Walker looks like he’s sticking around for the forseeable and that’s a huge boost for the hosts ahead of this tie.
Stevenage continue to prop up the division yet they are becoming tougher to beat. They were undone by a Tom Pope penalty at the weekend and are likely to keep it tight against fellow strugglers Oldham on Tuesday night. The hosts have netted just four goals since mid-October, yet they’ve also kept six clean sheets in that period. Graham Westley has got his side organised, but they lack the prowess to stick the ball in the back of the net. They’ve drawn six of their last ten matches in League Two. Oldham ended their run of defeats with a 1-1 draw at Macclesfield at the weekend and Dino Maamria will be boosted by David Wheater’s suspension being overturned. The visitors are also lacking firepower and have netted just seven times in the last nine games. There is likely to be very little between them.
It’s been a long time since Fylde have played a National League game as they’ve been in cup action recently. Jim Bentley’s men have had a busy schedule, but they must start to knuckle down and drag themselves away from the danger zone. They haven’t been victorious since November 26th and have conceded six in their last four. They have slipped into the bottom three although they do have games in hand. An upwardly mobile Notts County are far from the ideal visitors on Tuesday with the Magpies looking to extend their unbeaten sequence to eight games. They’ve won two of their last three away matches and have kept back-to-back clean sheets on their travels.
