Reasons for the New Year’s Day Acca Tips

For these New Year’s Day fixtures, League One and Two games account for all five matches in this footy accumulator. In the third tier, both Accrington Stanley and Coventry have performed with credit in recent weeks and both face lower table opposition. Meanwhile, in League Two, decent home teams Bradford, Colchester and Northampton will be aiming to claim another three points from their respective contests.

Accrington Stanley vs Rochdale Betting Tip – Accrington Stanley win.

Since claiming a 7-1 home victory against Bolton at the end of November, Accrington Stanley have been unbeaten in League One action and they beat both Burton and Portsmouth on home soil during December. Stanley now host a Rochdale team which plays Newcastle in FA Cup action at the weekend but which has lost three successive league games following a cup win at Boston. Very late goals have been conceded by the Dale in recent defeats but they are facing another loss at Accrington.

Tranmere vs Coventry Betting Tip – Coventry win.

A Boxing Day home win against Lincoln and then an impressive 4-1 victory at Wycombe confirmed Coventry as one of the in-form teams in League One. The Sky Blues have lost just one league match since the beginning of November when conceding a very late winner at Shrewsbury and they now visit a Tranmere outfit struggling for consistency. Rovers have earned just one league victory at Prenton Park since late September and registered only one clean sheet in ten previous league fixtures. A Coventry victory is predicted for the New Year’s Day win accumulator.

Bradford vs Morecambe Betting Tip – Bradford win.

An unbeaten sequence of form during December has propelled Bradford within reach of the League Two automatic promotion positions and they have won seven league fixtures at Valley Parade since the beginning of September. The Bantams now host a Morecambe team which has claimed just one point from five previous away matches with just a solitary goal scored. Eight losses in ten League Two outings on the road is another unwelcome statistic for the Shrimps and they are facing another away defeat.

Colchester vs Crawley Betting Tip – Colchester win.

Seven points earned from their three games over the Christmas period and at least two goals scored per game has allowed Colchester to move into the League Two top six positions ahead of these latest fixtures, and they are also unbeaten in league action since mid-October. Hosting Crawley will be no easy task but despite the visitors earning six away draws this season and winning 4-0 on Boxing Day, they have failed to win a league match on the road since mid-August. Colchester could use home advantage to claim maximum points.

Northampton vs Stevenage Betting Tip – Northampton win.

When suffering a surprise 4-0 loss at Crawley on Boxing Day, Northampton incurred a second away defeat during December but they responded by earning a 2-2 home draw with Cheltenham at the weekend. The Cobblers had won five successive League Two matches on home soil against useful opposition and now host a Stevenage team struggling at the foot of the league table. Winless in league action since the end of October, the Boro were beaten by a very late goal at Plymouth on Sunday but had been second-best for much of that game. Northampton should return to winning ways via this fixture.
