Hull vs Sheffield Wednesday

Hull’s leaky defence has been causing them problems all season, and the Tigers twice surrendered the lead against Cardiff. Grant McCann’s side have been ahead for just ten minutes in total this season, and they just can’t seem to keep the opposition off the scoresheet. They’re still looking for their first home clean sheet, although they have plenty to offer in the final third. Only eight sides have scored more goals this season than the men from Humberside, and they should be able to find a way through here. Jarred Bowen and Kamil Grosicki are key to their chances, and the pair were both instrumental once again at the weekend. Things are going well for Garry Monk at Sheffield Wednesday and the former Swansea man has seen his side score seven times in three games. They’re the fourth highest scorers in the division and Stephen Fletcher arrives here in sensational form. This should be a really entertaining watch.

 

Middlesbrough vs Preston

Preston were involved in a topsy-turvy clash with Bristol City at the weekend, and the Lilywhites are always a threat in front of goal. Alex Neil’s men have found the net 17 times this season which is the joint-highest in the league. On Tuesday, they come up against a Middlesbrough side who are fresh from shipping four against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. Boro will be looking to tighten up, although they do average a goal per match. They created chances at the weekend, especially in the second half, and they should be able to worry Preston’s back-line. The visitors have shown that they can score goals from both set-pieces and from open play, and it’s that versatility which has helped them climb into the play-off picture. They won 2-1 here back in March and we could see a similar outcome here.

 

Stoke vs Huddersfield

Stoke just can’t buy a break. The Potters were 1-0 up and seemingly in full control against Forest on Friday before a Jack Butland mistake allowed the visitors back into the contest. More defensive mistakes cost the hosts in the second half, and once again, they found themselves defeated at the Bet365. This is such an important game, and its a must-win for the home side. Huddersfield looked much better at the weekend against Millwall and they created a fair few chances. Fraizer Campbell is off the mark, and the addition of Danny Simpson will certainly add some much needed experience. Once again, the Terriers were architects of their own downfall, and a goalkeeping mistake allowed the visitors back into it. Although this could be a nervy affair, defensive errors have been commonplace, and that should lead to a few goals on Tuesday night.

 

Atalanta vs Shakhtar Donetsk

There always seem to be goals where Atalanta are concerned. The Bergamo side stuck four past Sassuolo at the weekend, and have now scored six times within seven days. They were battered and bruised in their opening Champions League encounter, and they need to bounce back here. Although this won’t be played in Bergamo, they do have the knack of scoring and conceding regularly at home. The visitors lost 3-0 to Manchester City in their opening game, although they did create a few decent chances in that contest. All three of their away games in the UCL last season ended with Over 2.5 Goals, and this match is definitely worth including in the accumulator.
