Brentford travel to Birmingham City with both sides in good form, but the Bees have more to play for with promotion in their sights. Brentford are just two points adrift of the automatic promotion spots as the race for promotion hots up. Brentford have won the most games in the Championship this season with 16 wins and their record away from home against sides in the bottom half of the table is encouraging with five wins from seven. Birmingham have won their last three games in the Championship to move 11 points clear of the relegation zone, but they lost all of their meetings with the top three teams in the table so far. Brentford, who have scored nine goals in their last three away games, should have too much quality for Birmingham in the final third to ensure they take all three points and keep their promotion bid on track.

 

Cardiff v Wigan Betting Tip – Cardiff win

Cardiff have found a bit of form as they prepare to welcome struggling Wigan to the Welsh capital on Saturday. Neil Harris’ side have won three of their last four games to move within four points of the play-off places. Derby play host to relegation-threatened Huddersfield on Saturday looking to maintain their good run of form at home. The Rams have won their last five at Pride Park and boast the second best home record in the Championship. Portsmouth v Shrewsbury Betting Tip – Portsmouth win

Portsmouth saw their winning run come to an end against promotion rivals Coventry in midweek, but they can bounce back against an out-of-sorts Shrewsbury Town this weekend. Swindon v Scunthorpe Betting Tip – Swindon win

League Two leaders Swindon will be aiming to cement their place at the top of the table when they take on managerless Scunthorpe this weekend. Swindon have won three of their last five games to sit two points clear at the summit of League Two. The Robins have been consistent all season under Richie Wellens and they are on a 10-game unbeaten run at the County Ground. Scunthorpe have had a season to forget having sacked manager Paul Hurst last month and they are languishing in 18th spot in the table. Scunthorpe have picked up just one win from their last eight games and they have lost 15 games this season. The Iron have also conceded 50 goals so far this season and their defence could be rich pickings for a free-scoring Swindon side who boast the formidable forward line of Eoin Doyle and Jerry Yates.
