West Ham left ‘furious’ following nightmare international break

West Ham betting tips

While the November international break might wrap up on Tuesday night, West Ham have been left furious after being struck with a string of devastating injury blows.

West Ham left ‘furious’ by Antonio’s injury

In what looks set to be a major blow for West Ham, Michail Antonio faces a lengthy stint on the sidelines after sustaining a brutal knee injury while away with Jamaica last week.

Although the one-time Nottingham Forest striker might have failed to bag a single Premier League strike since the end of August, Antonio has been one of David Moyes’ regular first-team stars since his return to the London Stadium.

It has been reported that the West Ham hierarchy are angry with the pitch conditions and the fact that Antonio was forced to play an extra 10 minutes after sustaining his initial blow.

Along with their all-time record goalscorer bracing himself for a lengthy stint in the treatment room, the Hammers were quickly hit with more frustration as fellow attacking talisman Jarrod Bowen was forced to withdraw from England’s squad due to his own suspected knee injury.

Injury issues are mounting up for Moyes

Along with watching Antonio and Bowen suffering respective knee injuries separated by just a few hours, the Hammers’ two attacking stars are not the only first-team players that have endured a nightmare November international break.

Picking up a suspected muscle knock while away with Morocco last week, Nayef Aguerd was forced to withdraw from Walid Regragui’s squad and return to east London for further examination.

While Vladimir Coufal might have avoided picking up his own injury blow, the 31-year-old is at the heart of a budding controversy.

Chucked out of the Czech Republic squad over the weekend after he had “fundamentally violated the internal rules of the national team”, Coufal’s EURO 24 spots now appears to be hanging in the balance.

Although Moyes might have some real squad juggling to do when his side mark their return to Premier League action this weekend, West Ham should be smelling a golden chance when they arrive at relegation scrappers Burnley on Saturday afternoon.
