Who could be Next Chelsea Manager if Graham Potter Gets Sacked?

Next Chelsea manager odds

Although Graham Potter might have only arrived in west London back in September, the ex-Brighton boss is already fighting for his life in SW6 and there is already a new Chelsea manager market available with some bookies.

Failing to offer the former Premier League champions any stability on either side of the World Cup break, Chelsea are now seeking a minor miracle in their bid to clinch a top-four finish come May.

Gaining a reputation for their glaring struggles away from Stamford Bridge and without a domestic victory on their travels since October, Potter finds a huge amount of pressure on his shoulders.

While the Blues might have spent over £300million on new arrivals during the January transfer window, there are growing concerns that Potter is not the man to take this current Chelsea crop forward.

Facing the real possibility of missing out on European football entirely for next season, we have taken a look at a few managers who could come in and replace Potter in west London.

Mauricio Pochettino to return to the Premier League with Chelsea?

Although Mauricio Pochettino might be most commonly remembered for his tenure across the capital, the former Tottenham boss still finds himself seeking a new managerial adventure.

Yet to take up a new post after leaving French heavyweights PSG last summer, Pochettino is still widely touted as one of European football’s most sought-after bosses.

Although the one-time Southampton manager might have failed to take the Parisians to a maiden Champions League crown, the 50-year-old did guide PSG to both Ligue 1 and Coupe de France success.

With Pochettino publically stating over the festive period that he is desperate to take up a new role, it has also been widely suggested that the ex-Spurs boss is keen on securing a Premier League return.

While he might still be regarded as an icon in north London, Pochettino would offer Chelsea a far more attacking philosophy than they’re currently watching at Stamford Bridge.

Arguably the hottest managerial free agent in world football, Poch does seem to be a logical option should the Chelsea hierarchy be seeking a change in their dugout.

Zinedine Zidane 12/1 to be next Chelsea manager

Making real waves across Europe since Todd Bohley’s takeover was confirmed last year, Chelsea have already spent in the region of £550million over the space of just two transfer windows.

However, while the Premier League giants might be flexing their financial muscle in terms of new recruits, they could now be looking to break the bank on a replacement for Potter.

Although Zinedine Zidane might have been without a role since leaving Real Madrid for a second time back in May 2021, the French icon could be inching closer towards a managerial return.

Cementing his spot in Champions League history during his two stellar stints in charge at the Bernabeu, Zidane guided Los Blancos to two La Liga titles and three European crowns during his tenure.

With Bohley looking to almost assemble a squad of superstar players, the new Chelsea owner could have his sights set on appointing a blockbuster boss to complete the set.

Although it might take a record-breaking financial offer to tempt Zidane over to the Premier League, Bohley has already proven he is willing to splash his cash.

Could Thomas Tuchel return to Chelsea?

After only being removed from his post at Stamford Bridge back in September, could Thomas Tuchel already be in line for a sensational return to west London?

While the one-time Borussia Dortmund boss might have reportedly had a public falling out with the new Chelsea ownership, it is no secret that Tuchel still has plenty of supporters among the Blues’ fanbase.

With some feeling that Tuchel deserved more respect from Chelsea’s new hierarchy, it has been suggested that the German tactician could be tempted by an emotional comeback to the Premier League.

Much like Pochettino, the 49-year-old is without a new role and has made it clear that he is searching for a speedy return to the touchline.

Making real history at Stamford Bridge as he became just the second Chelsea manager to guide the Blues to Champions League success, Tuchel also claimed three pieces of silverware during his 20 months in charge.

Clearly failing to move forward since Tuchel’s messy divorce back in September, many Chelsea fans would be excited by a surprise return.
