William Hill Punter Lands 398/1 Pre-Season Accumulator to win £12,000

A lucky football fan needed a last-minute Leeds United goal to land the last leg of his pre-season accumulator bet, picking four teams all to win their respective leagues.

The best went right down to injury time on the final day of the Championship season, where the William Hill customer needed Leeds to win the Championship to land the last leg of his 4-fold accumulator.

He had already secured the League One winner a few weeks ago when Birmingham City romped to the title, eventually finishing on a record 111 points.

League Two also went to the final day of the season, where he’d backed Doncaster to top the table and they went into the final day with a one point lead over Port Vale. Doncaster got the three points and Vale lost to secure another winning leg of his accumulator.

Doncaster did all their hard work in the latter stages of the season, eventually topping the table at the right time at the expense of Port Vale and Bradford. Walsall looked like the league winners all the way to the end of February, but they capitulated as the season got into the latter stages and somehow missed out on automatic promotion altogether.

Barnet to win the National League was the final leg of the punter’s accumulator, and this one was a two-horse race with York City. Barnet were in control of the league for the majority of the season, but York’s run to the line got them close. They won seven of their last eight matches, but Barnet held on to secure the title and a place in League Two.

The William Hill punter placed a £30 bet on the four teams all to win their leagues back in August and was left celebrating over the Bank Holiday weekend when £11,960 dropped into his account.
