It is difficult to see anything but a Bayern Munich victory here but Monchengladbach will certainly give it a go. They’re having a great season and could get a Champions League place.

At the start of play on Saturday, Bayern Munich will be seven points clear with four to play. Should Dortmund slip up earlier in the day, Bayern will know that a win will seal the title. No side has scored more than the Bavarians’ 90 league goals, averaging exactly three a game. They have also conceded the fewest in the Bundesliga, allowing just 30 goals in as many games. Bayern haven’t lost a league match since early December, winning each of the last nine. Their last four games have seen 19 goals, averaging just shy of four a game, with three of those featuring five goals or more.  

Borussia Monchengladbach Form

Meanwhile, Borussia Monchengladbach have featured in three high-scoring games since the restart in May – a 3-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, a 3-1 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen and a 4-1 win against Union Berlin a fortnight ago. They have been fantastic on the whole this season and still sit in fourth place in the Bundesliga table. Even though Leverkusen are now level on points with them they’ll still hope to get a European place at the very least.

In what could be the title-clinching match, do not expect Bayern to be at any less than 100%. The Bundesliga leaders have won every game since the restart and look as sharp as ever. Monchengladbach have outscored the vast majority of the league so far this campaign. Only Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have outscored them as they climbed to fourth with a win last weekend. Bayern aren’t impenetrable as by Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt, each of whom put two past the champions-elect in recent weeks. Monchengladbach could well nick one but Bayern will surely come out on top. Lewandowski has officially made this his best campaign of his career in terms of goals scored. The Bayern forward has now amassed a sensational 30 league goals, extending his lead to five for the golden boot last time out. However, a fifth yellow card means both he, and Thomas Muller will miss out this weekend. In their absence, Serge Gnabry looks like a good bet at a kindly priced 3/1 to open the scoring. The German international has had an excellent campaign to date and scored in Bayern’s last game. Lewandowski and Muller’s absences mean that spot-kick duties are also up for grabs, potentially boosting Gnabry’s appeal further.
