Bristol Rovers vs MK Dons Preview – 12/10/2019 League One

Bristol Rovers are challenging for the play-offs and credit must go to Graham Coughlan. The Dubliner thought he’d missed out on the opportunity to take charge of the club, but he’s certainly had the desired impact and his team appear to be going from strength-to-strength. They are unbeaten at home and have netted the first goal in four of those six games. All three of their victories have come against sides below them in the table although they did hold high-flying Wycombe to a goalless draw.

Only four sides have taken more points from home matches this season, and the well-organised hosts will be tough to breach once again.

MK Dons are struggling for form at the moment, and haven’t won since easing past Blackpool at Bloomfield Road five games ago. They’ve lost four of their five encounters against sides in the top ten and could struggle to find a way past Bristol Rovers. Rhys Healey is their main threat this season although Jordan Bowery is a useful outlet from the bench.

The Dons have failed to score in four of their last eight matches, and have netted just once in their last four. Confidence is low at Stadium MK and this is not a great time to come up against in-form opposition.

 

Jonson Clarke Harris to Shine Again?

The striker has been a revelation under Graham Coughlan and continues to impress at League One level. The forward is clearly enjoying life at Bristol Rovers and he could add to his tally here.

He’s netted seven times so far this season and is clearly enjoying playing alongside Liam Sercombe and Ollie Clarke, who have both claimed two assists each.

The 25-year old is happy to shoot from anywhere and has a real eye for goal. He’s scored five times at home and he should be able to delight the home crowd once again. He averages 2.7 shots per game at home (2.4 overall) and will get plenty of opportunities in this one.
