David Prutton’s Championship Predictions for this Weekend – Sky Sports Pundit tips wins for Norwich, Brenford and Blackburn

David Prutton Predictions

Every weekend, Sky Sports pundit David Prutton gives his score predictions for every Championship fixture taking place and this week, there are 11 matches taking place on Saturday, starting with Norwich vs Cardiff at 12.30pm

Norwich are top of the Championship table going into this weekend’s matches, three points ahead of Bournemouth who are a further three points ahead of Watford and four ahead of Swansea.

The big sides are already staking a claim for promotion at this early stage of the season as the three relegated teams from the Premier League look to bounce straight back to the top flight.

At the other end, Sheffield Wednesday are bottom of the pile on nine points, seven points from safety already. They play Coventry this weekend at Hillsborough.

See all of David Prutton’s predictions below including a correct score bet for each game and the odds for those bets.

David Prutton’s Predictions

Friday

  • Preston vs Bristol City: 2-1

Saturday

  • Norwich vs Cardiff: 3-2
  • Brentford vs Reading: 2-1
  • Millwall vs Nottingham Forest: 1-1
  • Stoke vs Blackburn: 1-2
  • Wycombe vs QPR: 1-1
  • Birmingham vs Middlesbrough: 1-1
  • Huddersfield vs Watford: 2-2
  • Luton vs Bournemouth: 1-2
  • Rotherham vs Derby: 0-2
  • Sheffield Wednesday vs Coventry: 1-1
  • Swansea vs Barnsley: 1-1

Norwich vs Cardiff Prediction

It could be a high scoring game at Carrow Road, with goals expected from both sides: “Norwich just keep finding ways to win games, and it’s not a huge amount of surprise considering the quality they have in the final third with Teemu Pukki and Emi Buendia.

Cardiff were disappointing against Swansea last week, but bounced back well with a great win on Wednesday night, coming from behind to beat Birmingham. There will be goals here, but I just can’t back against Norwich.”

Correct score bet: Norwich to win 3-2 (28/1 with Bet Victor)

Brentford vs Reading Prediction

Prutton thinks the home side will sneak a win this weekend: “Brentford have got into a habit of drawing a lot of games at home, and will continue to lose ground on the top two if they can’t start turning those results into wins.

Reading have a lot of injuries at the minute and not the biggest squad, which may have hindered them a little in midweek against Norwich. I think the Bees will get back to winning ways at home.”

Correct score bet: Brentford to win 2-1 (17/2 with Bet Victor)

Millwall vs Nottingham Forest Prediction

Prutton is predicting a draw in this 3pm kick-off at The New Den: “Two sides who got a much, much-needed win in midweek. Millwall had gone 10 without a victory before winning at Bristol City on Tuesday night, Nottingham Forest beat Sheffield Wednesday the same evening.

That result has kept Forest out of the bottom three, and they have Lewis Grabban back too, which is massive for them. Having said that, I think this one will likely be a draw.”

Correct score bet: 1-1 draw (29/5 with SBK)

Stoke vs Blackburn Prediction

Blackburn are in good form and can edge the win here: “Tyrese Campbell being out for potentially the rest of the season is such a blow for Stoke. It’s no real surprise that in the two games he’s missed so far they haven’t scored a goal.

Blackburn, however, aren’t struggling for goals in the slightest. Adam Armstrong is still pulling up trees, and he’s got Harvey Elliott in support. I’ll back Stoke to get amongst the goals, but Rovers to edge it.”

Correct score bet: Blackburn to win 2-1 (10/1 with Bet Victor)

Wycombe vs QPR Prediction

It could be another draw in the Championship on Saturday if this prediction is correct. “When doing these predictions it’s generally always worth a look at the previous record between two sides, but the last time these two met, Gareth Ainsworth was playing for QPR! So that won’t be much use here.

This is the kind of game Wycombe would target for a win, and QPR need to get something positive from after a poor recent run. I’m going to sit right on the fence and go for a draw.”

Correct score bet: 1-1 draw (13/2 with Bet Victor)
