Hull betting tips

Hull vs Chelsea betting tips and predictions for the 5:30 pm kick-off in the FA Cup on 25/1/2020 and a 3.72/1 same game multi tip.

Chelsea’s form has been poor for some time now and the Blues will be disappointed to only take a point off a depleted Arsenal in midweek. Hull have lost two on the bounce and sit in 12th in the Championship.

Hull vs Chelsea Predictions & Preview

Hull have suffered defeat in five of their seven home league games against sides currently above them in the table. During those five games, Hull scored just once.

Chelsea have won just once in their last five away league games.

Six of Chelsea’s last seven league games have feature more than one goal.

Chelsea to Win

Despite Chelsea’s inconsistent form, this is a fixture Chelsea should win. The Blues have a poor recent away record but over the course of the season, they have won more away league games than home (7 vs 5).

Chelsea can afford to give fringe players a chance and still field a string line up. The likes of Mason Mount, Marcos Alonso and Fikayo Tomori all started from the bench in Chelsea’s last game. These players have all had spells in the first team this season, highlighting the strength in depth Chelsea possess compared to their Championship opposition.

Over 1.5 Goals

Chelsea started the season with goals flying in at both ends. Each of their league games during August and September featured more than one goal and that trend has largely continued. Chelsea’s games have featured fewer than two goals on just four occasions, three of which were 1-0 defeats.

Chelsea’s last game ended 2-2 against a 10-man Arsenal. Lampard’s defence has looked far from secure and could easily allow Hull chances. Even so, in attack Chelsea have more than enough firepower to notch at least twice.

Ross Barkley to Score

Barkley has been a peripheral figure for much of his Chelsea career. The England international barely made an appearance for a large portion of this campaign but has been gradually getting more minutes in January.

Chelsea are likely to rotate their squad for this FA Cup tie and Barkley’s name on the team sheet would not be a surprise. For all his flaws, Barkley does offer threat going forwards, making surging runs into the box. What’s more Barkley may have penalty duties of the likes of Jorginho are not on the pitch. He is hardly a fan favourite, but Barkley could be a smart bet to score anytime in this one.
