Liverpool vs Manchester Betting Tips

Liverpool have made the best start in Premier League history with 61 points from a possible 63.

The Reds have kept six consecutive clean sheets and have the best defensive record in the league.

Marcus Rashford has outscored both Sadio Mané and Mo Salah but is not expected to be fit to start.

Manchester United have lost just two of their previous ten Premier League games.

Liverpool to Win

The Reds have not conceded a Premier League goal since the Merseyside Derby in early December. Joe Gomez has re-established himself at the heart of the Liverpool defence alongside the mercurial Virgil Van Dijk and look well equipped to deal with a Rashford-less Man United.

With Rashford likely to miss out, the goalscoring mantle will fall on Anthony Martial. The Frenchman is in good form and has previous against Liverpool but may struggle against such a tight-knit defence.

Salah and Mané have combined for five goals and three assists in the last five, with at least one of them being directly involved in a goal per game. Their consistency in front of goal should give Liverpool the edge once more.

Mané to Score

The African player of the year has scored eleven Premier League goals, one more than teammate, Salah. Mané has scored in two of his last three league appearances and has already scored against the likes of Manchester City and Leicester this campaign. He’s scored more than a goal every other game and looks Liverpool’s most likely scorer from open play.

Under 2.5 Goals

Four of Man United’s last six league games have featured fewer than 2.5 goals. The only games to exceed that tally were heavy wins over relegation-threatened Newcastle and Norwich. Marcus Rashford’s injury further reduces to chances of goals.

For Liverpool, it’s four in five under 2.5 goals. The defensive resilience has helped keep scoring to a minimum, but their attack isn’t firing on all cylinders either. From those four games, two have been 2-0 wins and two were 1-0 victories.

The last time these two sides faced each other, the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Expect a highly motivated Man United to show up at Anfield, keen to restrict the Champions elect as much as possible.
