Premier League Predictions for today’s Five Matches and an Accumulator

Premier League betting tips

We’re back with five more Premier League predictions across Sunday’s matches today and the action gets underway with Southampton vs Sheffield United at midday.

The bottom club need to start picking up points but play an in-form Saints side. Today’s second game is Crystal Palace vs Tottenham at 2.15pm and Spurs will have been encouraged by Chelseas’s loss at Everton last night.

Fulham host holders Liverpool at 4.30pm before the two final matches of the weekend take place – Arsenal vs Burnley and Leicester vs Brighton at 7.15pm.

See our five predictions and the betting tips for each game below.

Sunday Premier League Predictions

  • 12.00pm – Southampton vs Sheffield United
  • 2.15pm – Crystal Palace vs Tottenham
  • 4.30pm – Fulham vs Liverpool
  • 7.15pm – Arsenal vs Burnley
  • 7.15pm – Leicester vs Brighton

Southampton vs Sheffield United Prediction

Danny Ings Anytime Goalscorer – 19/20 with William Hill.

Ings returned with a goal to give Southampton all three points after a very dubious penalty decision went their way against Brighton. The Saints striker will no doubt start this next game and it could hardly be a kinder return.

Sheffield United are a shell of their former selves and are still searching for a second Premier League point of the season. Southampton and Danny Ings could climb into the top four win a win here.

Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Prediction

Under 2.5 Goals – Evens with BetVictor.

Should Crystal Palace execute their likely gameplan, they will restrict Spurs to few chances. Tottenham have scored well this season but it isn’t through expansive attacking football. These two sides both prefer to sit deep and hit teams on the counter but the onus is likely to be on Tottenham to push for a breakthrough.

When asked to break sides down, Spurs can struggle (see West Brom, Burnley, Newcastle for recent examples) and this should keep the scoreline sensible.

Fulham vs Liverpool Prediction

Sadio Mané Anytime Goalscorer – Evens with BetVictor.

Mané has failed to score in each of his last six Premier League games, an uncharacteristically long dry spell for the Senegal international. His goal output is far inferior to teammate Mo Salah this season but comparable numbers in previous years suggest he may be overpriced to score in this one.

Fulham may be outside the relegation zone but only West Brom have conceded more than their 21 goals against so far. Liverpool are likely to score more than once and Mané is always a likely candidate to be involved.

Liverpool won 4-0 at home to Wolves last weekend with a dominant display.

Arsenal vs Burnley Prediction

Under 2.5 Goals – 10/11 with Bet365.

Arsenal have had a lot of issues this season (as can be seen by their current Premier League table position) but perhaps at the forefront of those is their inept attack. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored more goals by himself than the entire Arsenal squad in the Premier League this season.

Their attacking patterns have been predictable and easy to defend against lately. If Arsenal persists with aimless crosses, Burnley will no doubt swat away most attacks. The Gunners may well come out on top but a thrashing looks unlikely.

Leicester vs Brighton Prediction

Wesley Fofana Anytime Goalscorer – 14/1 with Paddy Power.

For anyone looking for a speculative selection, here it is. Leicester’s new signing, Wesley Fofana, has settled in magnificently and looks like an excellent purchase for their defensive line. The Frenchman came very close to scoring when he hit the crossbar for the Foxes but gave a glimpse of his aerial prowess nonetheless.

Brighton have one of the lowest expected goals against in the league yet have conceded as many as bottom side Sheffield United. One reason for this is their inability to defend set-pieces thus far. If this continues against Leicester, then Fofana is a strong candidate to get on the scoresheet at long odds of 14/1.
