Highest Scoring Group Predictions: Where The Goals Will Fly In

When it comes to the World Cup, we want to see goals, especially in the Group Stage. While we may be invested in England or Wales, or indeed the nation we come from, elsewhere we want to see entertaining fixtures, with the goals flying in.

It’s always good for the BTTS market, while you can also bet on the group in which you think will see the most goals in it.

This year it’ll be a tightly fought contest, with some fantastic strikers and goalscorers right throughout the tournament, and some games where there really could be some high scores.

Many of the best bookmakers across the UK will offer odds on the ‘Highest Scoring Group’ and here’s exactly what they’re saying…

 

Group E – 3/1

William Hill are pricing Group E as the one that will see the most links during the competition, and it is easy to understand why given both Spain and Germany are in it. However, Japan and Costa Rica could provide strong opposition and at 3/1 it may be worth looking elsewhere in this market.

The game between Spain and Germany will be tight, which rules out one high scoring game, while Costa Rica have shown they can cause upsets in the past, as well as Japan being a technically sound outfit.

 

Group C & Group D – 5/1

Both Group C and Group D are priced at 5/1 with the bookmaker, and we’d look towards the latter in this market. In Group D, both France and Denmark have the opportunity to score goals, and they’ll be keen to assert their dominance over Australia and Tunisia, which could provide plenty of goals.

Meanwhile, France and Denmark have played in a number of games recently that has seen over two goals scored, which makes this group a real contender for highest scoring.

Group C  also has a good chance of welcoming the most goals, with Argentina and Poland having some of the best attacking talent on the planet at present, with Saudi Arabia having to try and keep the likes of Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Paulo Dybala and Lautaro Martinez at bay.

 

Group B – 11/2

England and Wales’ group, Group B, is priced at 11/2 but it looks quite a competitive group, particularly given the form of the Three Lions at present, and we could see quite a few tightly contested games.

Iran will struggle in the group, and goals could fly in against them, but they have drawn with Senegal and beaten Uruguay in their last two outings, so even they may be able to keep the likes of Gareth Bale, Christian Pulisic and Harry Kane and co. at bay.

 

Group A – 6/1

The group that will kick off the competition is also a relatively tight one. Looking at the nations, you could expect goals, with both Qatar and Ecuador perhaps expected to struggle. But Qatar are on home soil and Ecuador picked up results against Brazil and Argentina in qualifying, so they may be no pushovers. 

Both Senegal and the Netherlands will be looking to qualify, but they won’t do it at a canter and at 6/1 with William Hill the group being the top-scoring one is certainly an outside shot. 

Group’s G and F are both priced at 7/1, with the Belgians the only team to possibly get amongst the goals out of the two. Brazil are in Group G and have an array of attacking talent in their side, but both Serbia and Switzerland know how to shut up shop, so they may find it difficult to be free scoring.

Group H is the group that will see the least number of goals according to the bookmakers, and it’s difficult to disagree with four nations who will believe they have a realistic chance of qualification, making up for some tight and low scoring contests.
