In pre-season, Aston Villa played six friendlies. In those games, there were two or more goals in each. Last week, they were hammered 5-1 against Newcastle. Their last three fixtures of last season’s Premier League also had two or more goals in each of them. Everton failed to score in their opening fixture, however, I don’t think they’ll go two weeks without a goal. John McGinn to be booked

John McGinn is a player who is very well known for getting stuck-in in the middle of the park for Aston Villa. A key part of the Scotsman’s game is breaking up play and setting his team up on the front foot, and I think he will be playing like this as his side welcomes Everton. The 28-year-old, who started his career with Scottish Premiership club St Mirren, picked up six Premier League yellow cards last season in 28 starts and four sub appearances. He averaged 1.25 fouls per match last season, and I think he will have a couple here. He is good odds for a booking in this one.

 

Doucoure to be booked

Everton are expected to soak up pressure and his Aston Villa on the break in this game so Doucoure will be busy closing down and breaking up play in the middle of the pitch. Last season, Neal Maupay made 11 starts and 13 sub appearances for the Toffees, scoring just one league goal.
