Both Teams to Score Tip
Rotherham vs Birmingham
Millwall vs Reading
Blackpool vs Bristol City
Accrington vs Exeter City
Kilmarnock vs Motherwell
Rotherham vs Birmingham – BTTS 19/20
Both of these outfits were tipped for relegation at the start of the season by myself, although Rotherham have surprised fans up and down the division with their strong start to the season. Four games in and remaining unbeaten, this is not the Rotherham that Champions fans are used to seeing given that they have suffered relegation every in each of their second-tier outings since 2016-17.
They came up against a Birmingham side who remain in and around the drop-zone, albeit with little reason to believe they will stay down there come the end of the season. Goals are a slight issue for the Blues, but with uncertainty over Rotherham’s likeliness to prolong their spell in the Championship, this one should be a goal fest in front of a buoyant New York Stadium.
Millwall vs Reading – BTTS 19/20
Reading, much like Rotherham and Birmingham, were favourites to go down at the start of the season after failing to kick on last season after a 21st-placed finish. Yet once again, to the surprise of many they sit in the lofty heights of third after a solid start to the campaign.
Coming up against a resolute Millwall side who have a reputation as being the hardest to beat in the division at the Den, it could be a tough ask for Paul Ince’s side.
Yet Millwall have conceded at least two goals in their last two games; meaning that the Royals could run amok in Bermondsey.
See what David Prutton is predicting for this weekend’s Championship.
Blackpool vs Bristol City – BTTS 7/10
Bristol City are goal happy this year; Andi Weimann has continued his purple patch from last season whilst Tommy Conway is looking to build upon his solid introduction. Blackpool, meanwhile, bagged three at Burnley last week despite their backs being pushed to the wall in east Lancashire; Neil Critchley’s side know how to attack.
With City being the division’s second top scorers, goals being scored at either end is almost an inevitability.
Accrington vs Exeter City – BTTS 8/13
Three things are certain in life: death, taxes and goals at the WHAM Stadium.
Accrington’s home results in all competitions this year have seen two 2-2 draws and an incredible 4-4 against whipping boys Burton Albion.
Evidently their ability to both score and concede make them such an attractive prospect for a BTTS bet; and with Exeter failing to score in just one league game of their five so far this season, this is by far the best on this accumulator that I am most confident about.
Kilmarnock vs Motherwell – BTTS 16/19
Killie have endured a horrific return to their Premiership endeavours after picking up just one point from their first five games, and welcome a Motherwell side who are pushing on for more European football despite being dumped out to Sligo Rovers in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
In fact, it is this that gives me confidence Derek McInnes’ men can kick on despite not scoring in their last three league games. To be fair to them, two of those games have come against Celtic and Rangers, and they will smell blood in their first home tie against a non-Old Firm outfit since the opening day where both themselves and Dundee United scored.
That, alongside Motherwell scoring in every single league game so far this term, could mean goals galore at Rugby Park.
