Shrewsbury vs Fleetwood Prediction – Shrewsbury Win

The Shrews picked up an impressive point at the New York Stadium last weekend with Sam Rickett’s side looking exceptionally well-organised throughout. They are unbeaten at home, and have kept three clean sheets in their last four outings. The hosts have beaten Portsmouth and held Burton and Rochdale to a draw, and they could have too much for Fleetwood on Saturday. The visitors played in the EFL Trophy on Wednesday night, and although they’ve been in decent form overall, their away form is a little lackluster so we can’t add them to our predictions for Sky Bet League One this week. They conceded three times to Southend in their away outing, and they’ve also conceded five goals to Doncaster and Lincoln on the road. The Cod Army aren’t as strong at the back away from the Fylde Coast, and although there is the danger of this game ending all square – 9/5 is a decent price on the home side to prevail in this one. Joey Barton’s men have conceded 20 times in their last ten matches on the road, and they could be caught out here.

 

Oxford vs Gillingham Prediction – Oxford Win

Oxford made the headlines in midweek with a 4-0 hammering of Premier League West Ham. That followed a 6-0 victory over Lincoln last weekend, and with ten goals inside a week – it’s difficult to look beyond the men in yellow here. Although it’s a quick turnaround, Karl Robinson’s side should have enough momentum to beat the Gills at the Kassam. Steve Evans’ side are yet to win on the road this season, although they’ve only been defeated once away from the Priestfield. Robinson rested Ben Woodburn in midweek, with both Tarique Fosu and Matty Taylor also starting on the bench against the Hammers. All three players could be back in the XI for this game, and they could benefit from that midweek rotation. Gillingham have only won one of their last ten matches against Oxford, and that barren run looks set to continue on Saturday afternoon.

 

Ipswich vs Tranmere Prediction – Ipswich Win

The shortest price betting tip in our treble is Ipswich to continue their fantastic start to the campaign. The Tractor Boys have barely put a foot wrong so far, and have conceded just twice at Portman Road. They remain unbeaten and have won each of their last two games by a 1-0 score-line. They have a healthy mix of younger players and more experienced pros, and they should be able to continue their momentum here. James Norwood will be keen to score against his former employers in this tie, and the Rovers defence has struggled on the road so far. The men from the Wirral have collected just a single point from a possible twelve on their travels, and have failed to score in three of their four away matches. Paul Lambert’s men are also unbeaten in each of their last seven encounters with this opposition, and that run should continue this weekend.
