Memorial Tournament Betting Tips 2020 – Five Each-way Selections

We head back to Muirfield and our Memorial Tournament betting tips for a second consecutive week in what is a unique addition to the PGA Tour 2020 schedule. The world’s top 5 are all in action and it’s the return of Tiger Woods which makes for great viewing.

I’ve got 5 each way bets with the first two selections being strong ones this week and once again, use William Hill for your golf bets to ensure you get the best place terms, this week is is the top 8 places at 1/5 the odds.

Memorial Tournament Headline Tips

My first selection is GARY WOODLAND 40/1. (William Hill 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8). Woodland started slow in Round 1 last week but finished like a train putting 3 great rounds together to finish in the top 5. The course is going to be set up harder than last week which will suit Woodland as he is a US Open Champion who can be a tee to green machine on his day. He’s been rocking over nicely since we resumed and this type of test is perfect for him to add a victory to that great start. Woodland has made 7 of his 9 cuts here which includes 4 top 25 finishes. His game just appears to be on an upward curve every year and I think 40/1 is very generous.

My second selection is XANDER SCHAUFFELE. 28/1 WilliamHill 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. Xander is a man who saves his best golf for the big occasion and when he wins it tends to be a fairly big tournament on the PGA Tour. He has has a few chances to win since we resumed to action without quite getting the job done. He made a steady but slow start last week before things seems to click over the weekend. I think he will kick on from a strong weekend display last week and put a bold bid up for tournament victory here at Muirfield. He hasn’t won for 18 months which is far too long for a player of his calibre.

Each-way Betting Tips

My next selection is ABRAHAM ANCER 45/1 (William Hill 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8). Ancer has been in rude form since we returned to action and he is a player who continues to impress getting better and better. Muirfield is a second shot golf shot and his GIR stats since we resumed after the suspension have been top notch. I think a big win is only just around the corner for the Mexican superstar and this course and the way it’ll be set up this week could be the perfect match for him to do just that.

The next selection is JORDAN SPIETH 66/1 William Hill 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8). We all know how talented Spieth is and there has definitely been some encouraging signs of late. I thought he was unlucky to miss the cut last week as he just didn’t seem to have the rub of the green. I have a hunch a big week has to be just around the corner and hopefully this is the week where it all clicks for him. He is suited by firm and fast tricky courses which is what Muirfield is and I think if he can make a good start for once he could contend this week. His iron play needs to improve but it is slowly getting there and again at the prices I’m happy to include him this week.

My final selection is HARRIS ENGLISH 100/1 (William Hill 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8). English has been put up on the column recently as before lockdown he was certainly showing signs of returning to his best golf. English is a top-quality ball striker and will be suited by a tough test where making pars isn’t a bad thing, I expect that to be the case this week. If the putter warms up I’m confident of a bold showing here.
