North Macedonia vs Armenia Betting Tip – North Macedonia win.

Renamed from Macedonia during February 2019 following a successful Nations Cup campaign in 2018, North Macedonia were unable to maintain that impressive form when just failing to qualify for the 2020 Euros. Four victories were registered last year ending with two successive home victories against Slovenia and Israel, and they now welcome an Armenia outfit which can be unpredictable. A mixed Nations Cup campaign was followed by losing their last three matches in Euro 2020 qualifying including 3-0 and 9-1 defeats in Finland and Italy respectively. The hosts could repeat a 2-0 2018 Nations Cup home victory against their visitors in this 2020 version.

Bristol City vs Exeter Betting Tip – Bristol City win.

When Dean Holden became Caretaker Manager at Bristol City during the early days of July, he ensured the Robins lost just one of their final five matches of the 2019-20 Championship campaign. City have also stayed unbeaten in pre-season friendlies ahead of hosting this EFL Cup tie against Exeter with the League Two visitors playing mainly local non-league outfits during pre-season. Having lost 4-0 in the promotion playoff final at Wembley, the Grecians now face another difficult match and may struggle to avoid defeat.

 

Peterborough vs Cheltenham Betting Tip – Peterborough win.

Following their defeat in the League Two promotion playoffs semi-finals, Cheltenham have played two pre-season friendlies but have lost both games against the Bristol clubs without scoring. Six goals were also conceded and the Robins now face this trip to Peterborough with the hosts enjoying a fairly busy August during which they won the vast majority of their friendly encounters. Despite the recent sale of top marksman Ivan Toney, Posh could still have sufficient firepower to seal victory in this EFL Cup tie.

 

Newport vs Swansea Betting Tip – Swansea win.

Since League Two football was cancelled during mid-March, Newport have played just one friendly game when drawing with Bristol Rovers last month, which may not be the ideal preparation for hosting fellow Welsh team Swansea in this EFL Cup tie. The visitors finished a useful Championship campaign by losing to Brentford in the promotion playoff semi-finals at the end of July. Following a brief break, the Swans returned to action by beating Forest Green Rovers just a few days previously, and they are likely to win this contest.
