Although his work has gone slightly under-the-radar, Mike Duff has done a superb job at the Jonny Rocks Stadium. The former Burnley man took a while to turn things around, but he’s managed to turn into a virtually unbeatable outfit at home, and they also picked up a relatively rare away win at the weekend. The Peninsula Stadium is not an easy place to go, so it was a notable success for the Robins.
They hold a 3-1-0 record at home so far this campaign with Swindon the only side to take any points off them here, and they’ll be confident of making it another Tuesday night to remember at Whaddon Road. Tranmere (now of League One) were last side to win at this ground on January 12th, and they lost just six times at home throughout the 2018-19 campaign.
It’s hard to put your finger on exactly what Duff and his co-horts have done, but Cheltenham play with a real attacking edge at home, and they’re also extremely tight at the back. They tend to have a penchant for second half goals as well. They also tend to start at a decent price, and 8/5 makes them extremely backable here.
Bradford have won two on the bounce coming into this game, and there is a sense of momentum around the club. They edged past goal-shy Walsall at the weekend, and they will be hoping to double up with another three points here. Bradford have recently lost to FGR and Crewe, and they have struggled against some of the league’s better teams. They’ve conceded just three times on the road, and they will make this tough for Cheltenham, but the Robins should squeeze out another three points.
Notably, Gary Bowyer’s side have netted in each of their four away games so far, and with the threat of James Vaughn and Clayton Donaldson, there’s always a chance of finding the net. Cheltenham rarely fail to find the net at home, and Both Teams to Score? Yes looks like a sensible choice. It’s 4/5.
