Ipswich vs Oxford Predictions

After a mid-season lull, Ipswich got back to winning ways last week with a convincing display at home to Burton. It made it two games unbeaten for the Tractor Boys and kept their play-off hopes alive. The former of Kayden Jackson, Alan Judge and Flynn Downes is hugely encouraging and Paul Lambert will be hoping that his side can kick on and make it back-to-back victories. At home, they have a 6-5-3 record and are extremely tough to beat at Portman Road. Oxford’s cup exertions had clearly taken their toll last weekend, however they got back to winning ways in emphatic style against AFC Wimbledon (5-0). The Yellows are five points adrift of today’s opponents and will need to improve their away form if they want to crash the top six. They’ve failed to net in three of their last six away games and can’t seem to replicate their Kassam form on the road. Nathan Holland has been excellent since arriving at the club and he could provide the biggest threat for the visitors. Lincoln vs Gillingham Prediction

Gillingham are currently enjoying the longest unbeaten streak in the EFL and Steve Evans’ side were victorious yet again in midweek courtesy of a Connor Ogilvie goal at Roots Hall. The Gills have the sixth best away form in the division and will be feeling confident coming into this tie. They haven’t suffered a loss since November 23rd and still have faint hopes of getting into the play-offs. If they fail to make the top six, it’ll be their inability to finish off games that’ll cost them. Too many draws this season have hindered their progress, although having said that, they’ve won each of their last three matches in League One. Lincoln have been in mixed form since the arrival of Michael Appleton, although they have lost five of the last six. They were involved in a topsy-turvy game against Accrington last weekend, losing 4-3 at the Crown Ground. At home, they’ve won three of the last six and tend to be much more efficient at Sincil Bank. Their last two home defeats have come against high-flying duo Portsmouth and Rotherham. However, this should rate as slightly easier so the points are likely to be shared. MK Dons vs Bolton Prediction

MK Dons still only sit ten points above the drop zone, however they have shown enough in recent weeks to suggest that they’ll be perfectly safe. Russell Martin has taken well to management and he’s guided his side to four home wins in their last five matches at Stadium MK. The return of Rhys Healey has certainly helped matters and the striker has been largely responsible for the club’s upturn in form. They are unbeaten in four and have lost just twice in their last ten matches (vs Sunderland and Burton). They are yet to concede more than a single goal in a game since Boxing Day. As a former defender, Martin has clearly had a positive effect on the squad. Keith Hill’s Bolton look set for League Two next season and will be looking to end a sequence of three consecutive defeats. The Trotters have also lost each of their last four away games and just don’t look good enough on their travels. Sunderland vs Bristol Rovers Prediction

Sunderland have enjoyed a terrific start to 2020 and Phil Parkinson has certainly proved his doubters wrong. Although the Black Cats aren’t close to crashing the top two, they look like play-off contenders and should be in the mix come the end of the season. They’ve now won seven of their last nine games and Portsmouth are the only side to defeat them since the beginning of December. Sunderland have looked extremely dangerous going forward, however, it’s their defence which has impressed in recent weeks. They’ve managed to keep three consecutive clean sheets and have conceded just two goals in their last eight matches. Bristol Rovers picked up their first victory of 2020 last weekend with Ben Garner finally getting off the mark. The Gas have been dreadfully out-of-form since Graham Coughlan left for Mansfield and although this will be much tougher than last week’s home fixture with out-of-form Blackpool, they will be feeling reasonably confident. Jonson Clarke-Harris represents their best route to goal, however, the striker could find Sunderland’s rearguard too tough to breach. AFC Wimbledon vs Blackpool Prediction

AFC Wimbledon will be licking their wounds following a 5-0 hammering at the Kassam in midweek. The Dons are seven points clear of the dropzone and are far from safe, although their home form is solid enough and could make the difference come the end of the campaign. They’ve been defeated just four times this season at Kingsmeadow and will fancy their chances of collecting maximum points against out-of-form Blackpool. They may have won only one of their last six home fixtures, so could be hard to trust in this one. BTTS has landed in five of their last seven games at home and on the evidence of Tuesday night, they seem unlikely to keep a clean sheet in this one. Blackpool remain managerless following the sacking of Simon Grayson and at the time of writing, they will be led by David Dunn. The Seasiders were in command until Ben Heneghan’s needless sending off last weekend, and their ropey defence caved in during the second half. Grayson’s dismissal was exacerbated by his side’s inability to keep the opposition off the scoresheet, although they usually do hit the target. Armand Gnandouillet, Nathan Delfounso and Gary Madine will offer a threat throughout this contest. Wycombe vs Tranmere Prediction

Wycombe sit third in the League One table, and have the best home form in the division. Adams Park has become a fortress this season and they’ve suffered just two defeats in their last opening 17 matches at this ground. Gareth Ainsworth’s side have won three of their last four home matches and they should be able to collect three points against struggling Tranmere. The Chairboys have one of the best defensive records in the division, yet they have kept just a single clean sheet since the middle of December. They have been getting back to basics and that should help them collect three points here. Tranmere didn’t play last weekend, and it will have given Mickey Mellon time to work with his squad ahead of this tricky tie. The men from the Wirral haven’t won since December 21st and haven’t managed to find the net in any of their last five outings.
