Watford vs Liverpool: Reds to edge past Watford

A game that traditionally offers us goals, so the potential is there for the first game of matchday 8. Watford head into this game with no win in their last 3 games in all competitions, and with a new manager on board – Claudio Ranieri. He is well-known in the Premier League after his heroics with Leicester in the 2015/16 season, so the players will be eager to give him the best possible start.

Liverpool sit second in the table, one point behind Chelsea and they head in this game on the back of a pulsating 2-2 draw against Manchester City at Anfield. The international break didn’t give them any favours, as they are likely to be without Diogo Jota, Alisson and Fabinho. They will struggle against an inspired Watford, but they should get the job done.

Score Prediction: Watford 1-2 Liverpool (17/2 with bet365)

Aston Villa vs Wolves: Villa to keep unbeaten home record

Aston Villa are unbeaten at home this season, but they will face a Wolves team that has 3 successive away victories in all competitions. Villa look unstable at times this season, but that was to be expected due to the changes over the summer. We believe that they will get better as the season goes on.

Wolves had a similar situation during the summer, but they seem weaker than they were last season, but they are just a point behind Aston Villa going into this game. Aston Villa are a better team than Wolves, and they will show it on Saturday.

Score Prediction: Aston Villa 2-0 Wolves (10/1 with bet365)

Leicester vs Manchester United: More dropped points for United

A clash of two teams that have had somewhat disappointing starts of the season. Much more was expected of Brendan Rodger’s team after they came so close to securing Champions League qualification in the last couple of seasons. Instead, they sit 13th in the table, failing to register a win in the last 6 games.

Manchester United sit just two points behind league leaders Chelsea, but the inconsistency is likely to cost them the title this season. They have invested heavily in their squad, but they have not convinced anyone they are champions material. United will be without their main centre-backs Varane and Maguire due to injury, so we expect Leicester to exploit that, and a high scoring draw seems likely.

Score Prediction: Leicester 2-2 Manchester United (14/1 with bet365)

Manchester City vs Burnley: Dominant display from City

Not much can be said about the Citizens that hasn’t been said before. They are just brilliant to watch and they blow teams away at times with their quality and intensity. Every point matters in a competitive league like the Premier League, so they cannot afford any slip-ups.

Burnley have disappointed everyone this season, as the pillars on which Dyche has built his team – passion and aggression, seem to be missing. Without going too much into details, there is only one winner in this game.

Score Prediction: Manchester City 4-0 Burnley (17/2 with bet365)

Norwich vs Brighton: Seagulls to see off Canaries

Norwich seem just not good enough for the Premier League and are odds-on favourites to head straight back to the Championship next season. They have collected just one point so far, and it came in their last game against Burnley.

Brighton, on the other hand, have impressed the neutrals this campaign. Their free-flowing, attacking football have caught the eye of everyone, and they sit just two points behind leaders Chelsea. This has the potential to be a memorable campaign for Brighton, and they will continue their good form against this poor Norwich side.

Score Prediction: Norwich 1-3 Brighton (20/1 with bet365)

Southampton vs Leeds: Bore draw on the South coast

Southampton and Leeds are probably two teams that no one thought they might be in for a relegation battle, but at the moment, they sit one and three points respectively above the relegation places. This game is a six-pointer for them, and a defeat would ring the alarm bells for any team.

Last season, Leeds did the double against the Saints, but this campaign is much different than the last. There isn’t much separating these two teams at the moment, and they cannot afford to lose the game, so we are likely to see a cagey encounter that will end in a draw.

Score Prediction: Southampton 0-0 Leeds (12/1 with bet365)

Brentford vs Chelsea: Bees to fall short

No one in the world expected Brentford to show the quality they have shown, and everyone seems to be rooting for them at the moment, as they have all the things that make them likeable among neutrals – passion, quality and desire.

Chelsea are a different quality though, they sit top of the league, and they are likely to fight for the title until the last minute. The squad Thomas Tuchel has at disposal is among the best in Europe. Brentford and Chelsea have faced each other three times in their history, and they all came in cup competitions. Chelsea won 2 games, and Brentford got one draw. There will be goals in this one, but Chelsea will walk away with all three points.

Score Prediction: Brentford 1-3 Chelsea (14/1 with bet365)
