Sheffield United’s Tight Defence

No team has kept more clean sheets in the Premier League than Sheffield United this season. Only Manchester City can equal Sheffield United’s five shut outs and only Leicester have conceded fewer than their nine goals. Chelsea and Leicester are the only sides to score more than one goal against them, each netting twice. Wilder’s side come into this having conceded just three times in seven league games.

Blades Lack Cutting Edge

For all their defensive achievements, Sheffield United are lacking in attack. They have scored twice or more on just three occasions and have scored just 13 in 12, the lowest of any top half team.

Sheffield United lack a consistent goal scorer with midfielder John Lundstram and frequent substitute, Lys Mousset, currently tied as top goalscorers with just three goals apiece.

Red Devils’ Away Form

Manchester United’s away games have lacked goals this season. They have suffered two 1-0 losses in their last three league games with drab displays against Newcastle and Bournemouth.

In fact, Manchester United have won just once away from home (3-1 against bottom side Norwich) in the league this season. Their six away matches have featured just 11 goals for an average of 1.83 goals a game.
