Fantasy Premier League Tips and Advice for Gameweek 10

Fantasy Football tips

Gameweek 10 sees us past the quarter way point of the FPL season. Here’s our look at this week’s promising picks and ones to avoid. There were more disappointments last weekend with big guns failing to score – will this weekend be any better?

Goalkeepers and Defenders Tips

No wins or clean sheets from the last three has seen West Ham drop to tenth in the league. Nevertheless, The Hammers have kept three clean sheets this season and play a Sheffield United side with fewer goals than games. Issa Diop (4.5m) is our pick of the West Ham defence with bonus points likely with a shutout.

Despite only one win the last five, Manchester United have conceded just five goals in that time. Next up for The Red Devils is Norwich. The Canaries have scored just once in their last four games and have struggled with chances since their win over Manchester City. Aaron Wan-Bissaka (5.4m) will be back from injury in time to face Norwich and is a good bet for bonus points if United can keep them out.

Bournemouth took until last gameweek to register their first clean sheet in a 0-0 draw with Norwich. No team has scored fewer goals than Watford’s five, but The Hornets have shown that they can score against Arsenal and Tottenham and shouldn’t be underestimated. Nathan Aké (4.9m) is an expensive pick considering no team has kept fewer clean sheets.

Midfielders Tips

Callum Hudson-Odoi (5.9m) makes our picks once again after his third consecutive assist for Chelsea. The teenager has recorded attacking returns in each game since returning from injury and was a constant danger against Newcastle in Gameweek 9. With Burnley up next he is a solid pick in an attacking Chelsea side for just 5.9m.

Manchester City’s David Silva (7.6m) has accrued just two FPL points fewer than teammate, Raheem Sterling. He has secured double digit hauls on four separate occasions with his two goals and five assists from his seven starts. If you are willing to roll the dice with Guardiola’s rotation policy, you could be handsomely rewarded.

Sitting in fifth place, it’s easy to overlook Arsenal’s recent struggles. Just two wins from their last six games is concerning, especially with just two goals scored in their last three matches. Nicolas Pépé (9.3m) has yet to acclimatise to his new home and has scored just once (a penalty given to him by Aubameyang). He is best avoided for the time being.

Forwards Tips

After a slow start, Wolves are finding their feet. Undefeated in four, they face Newcastle next. Raul Jimenez (7.1m) scored a penalty and had another two goals chalked off. He is a good mid-priced option for the next few fixtures.

The August Player of the Month has suffered a huge downturn in form. Norwich have struggled to score in recent weeks and Teemu Pukki (7.0m) has blanked in his last four fixtures. Now might be the time to sell if you haven’t already.
