Tuesday’s Football Tips – Crystal Palace vs Man United Friendly & Champions League Qualifiying

Champions League predicitons & betting tips

As we continue to trundle through the summer break, Tuesdays and Wednesdays do at least provide us with some competitive football in the form of Champions League qualifying and the Betfred Scottish Cup, we’ve taken a quick look for some midweek football betting tips.

In the pre-season friendly schedule, Crystal Palace vs Manchester United catches the eye to provide us with some mid-morning entertainment with the match due to kick-off at 11.10am UK time. The teams are currently in Australia and this friendly will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

In the Champions League qualifying, there are seven fixtures to get stuck into and the best way to play these is probably an accumulator across the matches with the first ones kicking off at 5pm.

Man United vs Crystal Palace Tips

Erik Ten Hag has gotten off to a pleasing start as Man United manager in their two friendly matches so far. They’ve beaten Liverpool 4-0 and then come from a goal down to beat Melbourne Victory 4-1. Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial have both scored and been impressive under the new manager and United fans will hope the two of them get more chances in the Premier League this season.

Crystal Palace have already played four friendly games with mixed results. They’ve drawn 1-1 with Accrington Stanley, lost 2-0 to Liverpool and beaten Millwall (5-4) and Ipswich (4-2).

High-scoring games have been a feature of both these sides during pre-season and in the latest betting odds for the match, you can get 4/7 for over 2.5 goals or 31/20 for over 3.5 goals.

Both managers will be looking to focus on the defensive side of the game at some point during the warm-up matches, particularly Ten Hag after Man United’s struggles last season but Lisandro Martínez’ signature won’t be finalised in time for this fixture.

Champions League Qualifying Tips

There are 7 matches taking place on Tuesday including Linfield’s tie against Bod/Glimt. Linfield got to this point by beating The New Saints but face a tougher task here and are 11/2 to get a first leg lead with a win in 90 minutes.

Shamrock Rovers face a daunting trip to Ludogorets, who have appeared in the group stages before and there are more former qualifiers in the shape of Malmo FF, who face Zalgriris Vilnius, and FC Midtjylland to host AEK Larnaca. These sides all have good Champions League experience which should stand them in a good position to secure first leg leads and if you’re looking for a few short prices to add to a Champions League qualifying accumulator, these are a good starting point.
