Bristol City vs Sheffield United Predictions

This is a tie between two sides who are in-form and playing some excellent football along the way. Bristol City didn’t win any of their first three games but have turned things around and Lee Johnson’s side are easy on the eye. Since their defeat to Middlesbrough, they’ve scored eight times and conceded just a single goal. Sheffield United have also suddenly found form and hit three past previously unbeaten Bolton a couple of weeks ago. They dismantled Aston Villa prior to the International Break and the addition of Ollie Norwood in the centre of the park has certainly helped turn things around. Chris Wilder’s side are often hard to stop when they gain momentum and they could add another three points to their tally here. They have a decent record at this ground as well with a 3-2 victory here just five months ago. They also won their previous visit 3-1 and their recent form suggests that they can continue their upward momentum here. Sheffield United the bigger price of the pair and can be backed at 15/8 with Paddy Power. The Blades are the first of our Bristol City vs Sheffield United predictions for Saturday afternoon.

There should be plenty of entertainment served up in the South West on Saturday afternoon as these two teams always produce an entertaining 90 minutes. Over 2.5 Goals would have landed in three of Bristol City’s last five Championship games whilst each of Sheffield United’s last five matches have produced three or more goals. There have been 18 goals in the last five meetings between these sides and on current form, I expect that tally to increase. Both teams have lots of firepower and plenty of firepower and many players arrive in form. Spectators should get plenty of value for money here. Over 2.5 Goals is available at 10/11 with Ladbrokes and is the second of our Bristol City vs Sheffield United predictions. You can use their £50 free bet to back this selection.

Andreas Weimann failed to get on the score-sheet against Blackburn a fortnight ago but that was a rare blip for the former Villa man. Lee Johnson always seems to get the best out of his strikers and Weimann will be hoping to break the 20-goal barrier this season. He’s never been prolific but he’s enjoying a purple patch at the moment and you wouldn’t want to back against him adding to his recent haul. No other Bristol City player has scored more than a single goal this season and with the Austrian sitting pretty on five for the campaign, he has to be backed here. Andreas Weimann to score anytime is available at 21/10 with Bet365 which is a standout price. He is the third of our Bristol City vs Sheffield United predictions.

Bristol City vs Sheffield United Betting Preview

Bristol City start as the favourites for this tie which is unsurprising given that they are the hosts. The Robins have been in good form and can be backed at 8/5 with William Hill. Sheffield United aren’t far behind in the betting and can be backed at 13/8 to take all three points in this one. Chris Wilder’s side are an all or nothing side and don’t tend to draw many games but it’s 12/5 for the game to end all-square.

We’re predicting goals in this game and we hopefully won’t be disappointed. Over 2.5 Goals is available at 17/20 whilst many punters will fancy going a step further and backing Over 3.5 Goals at 12/5. It’s 7/10 for Both Teams to Score? Yes and it’s difficult to envisage either side failing to hit the target.

Bristol City don’t have any injury worries ahead of this tie whereas Sheffield United have a number of absentees including John Fleck, Leon Clarke and George Baldock. Billy Sharp should start for the Blades though and he can be backed at 9/2 to net the first goal of the game. Our prediction, Andreas Weimann is also 9/2 to break the deadlock.
