West Brom predictions

West Brom vs Derby predictions and Championship betting tips for Wednesday night’s fixture. Kick-off is 8pm on the 24th of October and our tipster has selected three recommended bets.

West Brom vs Derby Predictions

The first of our Championship predictions comes from the Hawthornes where a home win is likely. Derby were excellent against Sheffield United at the weekend Frank Lampard’s young side, toppling an impressive Sheffield United side but they are yet to convince away from Pride Park. The Rams have picked up just one point from the last nine on the road and just four from the last fifteen. They have only beaten Reading [just…] and Hull away from home this season and this will be a tough trip for them. I do still think that Derby could make the play-offs this campaign and I am enjoying watching them play but their away form is a bit of a sticking point and something that Lampard must tackle. West Brom were simply lacking on Saturday and the Baggies struggled to create meaningful chances at the DW Stadium. In defence of Darren Moore, it is not an easy place to go and they have one of the best home records in the division and indeed the whole of the EFL. It was only the second time that the Baggies had failed to score this season but back at the Hawthornes, they should be much stronger. Their last five home matches have seen them scored nineteen goals, a figure which is hugely inflated by their 7-goal romp against QPR but an impressive haul nonetheless. They have Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez leading the line and the ever-impressive Harvey Barnes in behind. They will be without Jake Livermore for this tie but they can recall Gareth Barry to the side. I like watching both of these sides and it should be an absolute cracker but I expect West Brom to edge out their opponents. West Brom to win is priced at 21/20 with William Hill and that is the first of our West Brom vs Derby predictions for Wednesday night.

West Brom vs Derby Under/Over Odds

When Darren Moore took over from Alan Pardew, the former defender organised his side’s back-line and got them keeping clean sheets and shutting sides out. Since dropping to the Championship, they have been unable to replicate that stubbornness and shutouts have been at a premium. They have kept just one clean sheet so far this season and they are facing a very attack-minded side in Derby County. The Rams’ defence isn’t as porous as their opponents but they are yet to keep a clean sheet in six attempts away from home. If you love defensive organisation, you may wish to switch over or make alternative plans for Wednesday evening, this match won’t be for you! WBA are averaging 2.38 goals per game, which rises to 3.33 at the Hawthornes whilst Derby sit mid-table in the goals scored charts with 17 in 13. The Rams average a goal per matches on the road and both sides sit inside the top ten for BTTS stats this season. Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score is priced at 11/10 with Coral and that seems like a generous price. It is the second of our West Brom vs Derby predictions for Wednesday evening.

West Brom vs Derby Anytime Goalscorer Odds

Jack Marriott has had a relatively slow start to life at Pride Park but that is to be expected from a player moving up a level. However, the former Luton and Ipswich man is a natural poacher and he should be able to find room amongst the West Brom defence. The technique displayed against Sheffield United was absolutely superb and he will surely get some opportunities in this game. As I expect Derby to get on the scoresheet in this game, Marriott could be the man. Jack Marriott is priced at 47/20 with 888Sport to score anytime in this clash and he is the third of our West Brom vs Derby predictions.

West Brom vs Derby Match Betting Preview

West Brom Win – 21/20

Draw – 13/5

Derby Win – 14/5

[global_advert id=”37941″]

West Brom are understandably the favourites to win this tie and can be backed at 21/20. The Baggies are the highest scorers in the league and they’ve scored the majority of their goals here. Darren Moore’s side have plenty of firepower and whilst there are still problems at the back, they can outscore the majority of their opponents here at the Hawthornes. Derby come off the back of a very impressive performance and result against Sheffield United and they will understandably attract plenty of backers at 14/5. The Rams have struggled away from home but they have become a little tougher to beat and the draw at 13/5 is likely to entice many punters.

There can’t be many people predicting a low-scoring affair here but Under 2.5 Goals is available at Evens. It’s 4/5 for Over 2.5 Goals in this game and that price is likely to get shorter as we approach kick off. Both Teams to Score? Yes is available at 4/6 and will be extremely popular. It is likely be included in many people’s BTTS predictions for the midweek games.

Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez are predictably the top two in the anytime goalscorer betting for this game with the Newcastle loanee available at 6/5 and the former Burnley man currently priced at 6/4. For Derby, our anytime goalscorer betting tip Jack Marriott is available at 11/5, the same price as strike partner Martyn Waghorn who had some good efforts fall his way on Saturday.
