Leicester vs Southampton predictions and betting tips for the Premier League fixture on Saturday 12 January with an anytime goal scorer tip and correct score prediction included.
Expert Tipster Prediction: Leicester for large parts of this campaign have been in good form this season and they sit in 7th going into the fixture, but are only four points ahead of Bournemouth in 12th. Southampton have been poor this season and sacked Mark Hughes after several poor performances, they’ve now brought in Ralph Hasenhuttl and has had victories over Arsenal and Huddersfield as well as a credible point against Chelsea. However, losses to Cardiff and West Ham have shown that it’s been a mixed bag for the Austrian so far on the south coast. For this one I think it will be tight game and the two sides will share the spills at the King Power Stadium.
Both teams come into this one on the back of poor results, Southampton collapsed as they drew 2-2 against Derby County. Leicester suffered one of the major shocks in the third round of the FA Cup as they lost away to Newport County. For the hosts they must respond from their embarrassing defeat to the League Two side and will look to return to winning ways. However, Southampton will be desperate to get out of trouble and if they return to the south coast with anything that would represent a good point away from home. I can see some goals in this one but it potentially being a draw. The first of the prediction is for both teams to score and the draw.
What are the odds of both teams to score and a draw? 7/2 with bet365.
For our first scorer tip we’re going to go for James Maddison to score anytime, he’s scored five times this season and is been the creative spark in the Leicester midfield this season since his big money move from Norwich. He came on against Newport and looked their best player and I’m going to back him to get his sixth goal this season. Jamie Vardy has had a solid season and could be another option score anytime or even get the first goal of the game. As for the away side, they will be without Danny Ings who is injured with a hamstring injury, they do have Charlie Austin and also Shane Long available to start up top for the Saints.
What are the best odds of James Maddison to score anytime? 23/10 with Betfair.
As for correct score I’m backing this game to be a tight affair and it to finish 1-1. The Saints held Chelsea last time out in the league and will be looking to get another good away point against a good side. Leicester I think will struggle after a poor defeat in the FA Cup and will hand some chances to the away side who will come away with a draw.
What are the best odds for Leicester City 1-1 Southampton? 6/1 with Bet Victor.
Leicester’s odds to win this one are evens with Coral, the draw is 12/5 with SkyBet and for an away with Southampton are 13/4 with Marathon Bet. If you want to bet on an anytime goal scorer James Maddison is 23/10 with Betfair, however the favourite is Jamie Vardy at 11/10. Both teams to score YES is at 4/5 with Bet365 however, for both teams to score NO it’s at 10/11 with Paddy Power.
