Who will win the 2022 World Cup?

The 2022 World Cup Fantasy Football games have started to roll out and we’ve taken a look at 5 players you should pick for your Fantasy team in Qatar.

While many people may be frustrated that the Premier League season has come to a halt for the World Cup, many fantasy football managers will be sad of the break too, but never fear as World Cup Fantasy Football is here and it’s another chance to get together with friends and enjoy that little bit of competition.

As well as betting on the World Cup, fantasy football is a great way to invest more in the tournament, outside of England and Wales, and many of you will already be starting to think about selecting your teams.

With so much quality on display, it’s not an easy task selecting your 2022 World Cup fantasy team, but luckily for you we’re here to help with our must-have picks for the tournament.

Harry Kane

We’re starting with England’s captain, and a man who knows how to score in tournament football having won the Golden Boot in Russia and coming close as Gareth Southgate’s men reached the European Championship Final just last year.

He’s been in good form for Tottenham, scoring goals for fun in recent weeks and he’ll be instrumental in England’s progress throughout the tournament. There are certainly goals available in the Group, with Iran first up for the Three Lions, while USA and Wales certainly provide opportunities too. He won’t come cheap, but he’ll certainly be worth it.

Thibaut Courtois

A solid goalkeeper is always a good place to start and In Thibaut Courtois you have a goalkeeper who could go far in the tournament as well as being solid during the Group Stage.

The Belgians are clear favourites in Group F, with Croatia the main competition, and Morocco and Canada providing what should be relatively straight forward ties for the European outfit. Roberto Martinez’s men will be expecting at least two clean sheets during that Group Stage, which makes Courtois a useful pick in a fantasy eleven.

Sadio Mane

Senegal are dark horses for the competition and could well be the team to beat in Group A going into the tournament off the back of an Africa Cup of Nations win. While the Netherlands are favourite to top the group, we fancy the African nation to qualify and cause plenty of problems for the opposition.

Sadio Mane will be key for the side, and he’s been performing well for Bayern so far this season. Liverpool fans certainly know what they’re missing without him, and plenty of Premier League fantasy players will be getting him back in their team.

Christian Eriksen

It’ll be an emotional occasion for Christian Eriksen as he finds his way in tournament football once again after that horrific incident last year. Eriksen will be a key player for the Danes though, and they’ll once again be a team to be reckoned with.

He could pick up the points against both Tunisia and Australia, while potentially being the difference against France. The Danes beat France twice in the Nations League over the summer and with Eriksen being one of Manchester United’s best players so far this season it could be a great return to tournament football for him.

Kieran Trippier

With injuries in the England squad the way they are and Kieran Trippier’s fantastic form for Newcastle, there’s a clear pathway for the right back to play a big part in Gareth Southgate’s team once again.

Trippier has been a hefty point scorer in Premier League fantasy football and could be moving into Qatar 2022 too with both clean sheets and points from set pieces available to the Burnley lad.
