Who’s hot and who’s not? – Fantasy Football tips for Matchday 14

Premier League betting tips

Although Christmas is supposed to a be a carefree and relaxing time of the year, it is an incredibly stressful time for all us Fantasy Football addicts.

Ahead of a hectic schedule, it’s imperative to get your fantasy teams in shape with time to spare.

With this weekend’s action headlined by the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton and the north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham, buckle in for a fiery weekend of action from across the Premier League.

So, with Matchday 14 on the horizon, we have taken a look at a few potential options all you Fantasy Football managers should consider and a handful of players worth dropping out.

IN

Raheem Sterling – £11.3million

On course to set a personal best season and enjoying the form of his career, there is no doubt that Raheem Sterling should certainly be top of your Fantasy Football wishlist.

Finding the net in last weekend’s 4-0 win away at West Ham, the England international has seven Premier League goals to his name and sit only behind teammate Sergio Aguero and Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the goalscoring charts.

Also with six assists to his name, no player in the Premier League has been directly involved in more goals than Sterling this season.

With a points tally of 95, the 23-year-old is the highest scoring player in Fantasy Football, It is also worth noting that the City man enjoys his matchups against Bournemouth.

Sterling has netted four goals in as many appearances against Eddie Howe’s side.

For those of you with their Triple Captain still sat in the bank, you should consider handing Sterling the armband this weekend.

Alexander Mitrovic – £6.6million

Helping himself to a two-goal haul against Southampton last weekend, one man who appears to be relishing the arrival of Claudio Ranieri is leading marksman Alexsander Mitrovic.

Picking up 13 points last weekend, no striker in the Premier League recorded a better return.

Also the leading marksman in this year’s inaugural UEFA Nations League, Mitrovic has six Premier League goals to his name and has the fifth highest points tally of any striker in Fantasy Football.

With the partnership of David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger showing some fatigue in last weekend’s 3-1 loss away at Wembley, Mitrovic should be confident about adding to Chelsea’s recent woes.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – £4.2million

Enjoying his breakout season at Selhurst Park, it has been quite the rise for 21-year-old Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

While it has been far from a dream start for Crystal Palace, their homegrown right-back has been arguably Palace’s standout performer this season.

Helping the Eagles keep a clean sheet at Old Trafford last weekend, only Everton’s Idrissa Gueye has made more tackles than Wan-Bissaka after 13 Premier League games.

Although Wan-Bissaka has recently been linked as a potential transfer target for Manchester City, his price has dropped by £0.1million and his Fantasy Football price tag is at a season low.

With Saturday’s clash with a struggling Burnley side at Selhurst Park, Palace then face a string of comfortable games against Brighton, West Ham and Leicester.

Given Wan-Bissaka’s form and Roy Hodgson’s comfortable run of fixtures, the defender would be a wise long-term investment for your Fantasy Football side.

OUT

Eden Hazard – £11.3million

Although a month ago it would have seemed insane to take Eden Hazard out of your team, Chelsea’s talisman has struggled since returning from injury and could also have another setback on his hands.

With Maurizio Sarri confirming that the 27-year-old will not feature in Thursday’s Europa League tie against PAOK, Hazard’s latest ankle injury could see him settle for a place on the bench in Saturday’s West London derby against Fulham.

Struggling to make any real kind of impact in Chelsea’s 3-1 loss away to Tottenham last weekend, while Hazard does sit third in the Fantasy Football charts with 83 points, he has now failed to score or assist in his last four matches for the Blues.

In fact, Hazard has now not broken the double-digit barrier since the 7th of October.

Clearly showing some level of fatigue and the constant speculation surrounding a move away from Stamford Bridge, it could be worth looking at reinvesting that £11.3million.

Matt Doherty – £4.9million

Helping Wolves keep four clean sheets in their five Premier League matches between September and October, Matt Doherty was a man being drafted into many a Fantasy Football side.

Voted September’s PFA Player of the Month, the 26-year-old briefly found himself in the top 10 for the highest scoring defenders in this year’s game.

However, with last year’s Championship winners so publically struggling, it could be time to shop around for potential defensive replacements.

Cristised for Huddersfield’s first goal in last weekend’s 2-0 defeat, Wolves are without a win or a clean sheet in the past seven weeks.

Although Saturday’s trip to South Wales might seem like the perfect chance for Wolves and Doherty to get their season back on track, Cardiff have scored at least once in five of their last seven matches on home soil.

With Doherty’s value also dropping by £0.2million following his return from injury and Wolves’ defensive issues, it could be time to jump ship and potentially bring in Trent Alexander-Arnold (£5.2million) or Michael Keane (£5million).

Lucas Moura – £7.1million

Although his season may have started so brightly and he did put in a solid showing during Wednesday’s Champions League clash, Lucas Moura has struggled with his Premier League return of late.

Settling for a place on Tottenham’s bench during last weekend’s London derby victory, the form of Dele Alli, Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen has undoubtedly seen him slip down Spurs’ pecking order.

With almost 50,000 Fantasy Football managers dropping him for Matchweek 14, the Brazilian’s value has also dropped to an all-time low.

Scoring just once in his last 10 matches, it looks like it could be time to drop Moura from your side.
