Fantasy Football Tips – 3 bargain buys ahead of Gameweek 26

Premier League betting tips

With most of us looking to forget about the disappointment of captaining Leroy Sane last week, FPL bosses across the country will be desperate to bounce back on Gameweek 26.

A weekend of fixtures that is highlighted by Manchester City hosting Chelsea at the Etihad, we have been searching for a few bargain buys that can boost your squad.

Ahead of another action-packed weekend in the world of Fantasy Football, here are three stars you should be looking to bring in ahead of Gameweek 26:

James Ward-Prowse – £5.1million

Although Southampton still may still find themselves at the heart of a relegation battle, new Saints boss Ralph Hasenhüttl should be boosted by his sides recent performances.

Now unbeaten in their last five Premier League outings, a run that stems back to Gameweek 20, fans around St. Mary’s should also be excited by James Ward-Prowse’s start to 2019.

Owned by just 1.9% of FPL bosses from across the country, the Southampton midfielder has now scored three goals over his last four top-flight appearances.

Also now finding the net in his last two matches on the South Coast, the 24-year-old has picked up 32 FPL points over the past four weeks, a better return than any other player at Southampton.

Ahead of a visit from Cardiff on Gameweek 26, Ward-Prowse should be confident of extending his recent points haul.

Despite picking up an emotional 2-0 win over Bournemouth in South Wales last weekend, Neil Warnock’s side have famously struggled on the road this season.

The Bluebirds have managed to pick up just one victory away from the Cardiff City Stadium all campaign and also left St. James’ Park on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline back in Gameweek 23.

Joao Moutinho – £5.2million

Putting in another eye-catching display in their 3-1 win at Goodison Park on Gameweek 25, Wolves will have their sights set on a surprise European push in the second half of the season.

Now winning their last three top-flight matches on the bounce, last year’s Championship winners have also recorded a staggering 10 goals on that winning run.

Enjoying by far their brightest spell of the year, it is no surprise that Wolves’ rise up the table has come at a time where midfielder Joao Moutinho is really starting to showcase his skills.

Remarkably owned by just 4.9% of FPL bosses, the 32-year-old has picked up seven assists this season, with five of those coming over the past three Gameweeks.

Already racking up 88 FPL points this season, no midfielder has recorded a better tally at Molineux.

The Portuguese icon also holds a better return than the likes of Willian, Lucas Moura, and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Also sat in the top eight for chances created from set pieces, Moutinho and co will welcome Newcastle to the Midlands on Monday night.

Despite still being boosted by their shock 2-1 win over Manchester City on Gameweek 24, Rafa Benitez’s Magpies have been very questionable away from St. James’.

Still at the center of the relegation race, Newcastle haven’t recorded an away victory since Gameweek 16, a 1-0 win over Huddersfield.

Marcus Rashford – £7.7million

We backed Marcus Rashford ahead of Gameweek 25 and we’re doing the same this week.

With Manchester United picking up a 1-0 win over Leicester last weekend, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seen his unbeaten start at Old Trafford extended to eight Premier League matches.

Handing the Reds a much-needed attacking approach, it is no surprise that Rashford is enjoying his brightest spell in Manchester.

Once again finding the net on Gameweek 25, the forward has now scored five goals in his last six top-flight appearances.

In fact, since Gameweek 20 Rashford is currently averaging nearly eight points per week.

Also becoming just the second United player to break the 100 point barrier this campaign, Rashford now sits in the top 10 for points collected by a striker.

While the England international might have seen his price reach a season-high of £7.7million, Rashford is still considerably less than the likes of Kane, Aguero, and Aubameyang.

Now cementing his spot as Solskjaer and United’s #1 choice up top, the 21-year-old should be relishing a matchup against Fulham on Saturday.

Already sat seven points adrift of safety, the Whites have now lost four of their last five Premier League matches and their 55 goals conceded is the worst in the division.

With the hosts now managing to record just a single clean sheet at Craven Cottage this year, Rashford would be a wise investment for any FPL boss ahead of Gameweek 26.
