Chelsea vs Arsenal: A Europa League Final Combined 11

Chelsea Arsenal combined 11

English football has really conquered Europe this season with all four sides in the Champions League and Europa League Finals coming from the Premier League.

Arsenal and Chelsea fans have certainly grabbed the short straw with their trip to Baku, but the chance to lift silverware, and for the former to secure a place in the Champions League, it’s certainly going to be a huge game on May 29th.

Chelsea are just about shading the tie as favourites, at 5/4 with bet365, but the performances of a few star players will be key to that.

Both sides have some real influential figures, but who would appear in a Chelsea and Arsenal combined 11?

Goalkeeper

Arrizabalaga

Kepa has proved a worthy replacement for Thibaut Courtois in the Chelsea goal and, despite his moment of madness in the EFL Cup Final, has been a major figure for the club.

The young Spanish stopper gets in ahead of the retiring Petr Cech and Bernd Leno following a brilliant season that has helped the club secure their place in the top four once again.

He’ll have to keep out two quality strikers in Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and isn’t particularly tipped to do so with William Hill  pricing Chelsea at 19/10 to keep a clean sheet.

Defenders

Azpilicueta, Koscielny, Rudiger, Alonso

Arsenal have struggled to be a force defensively since the days of Sol Campbell, Martin Keown and Tony Adams, so it’s no real surprise our back four is largely made up of Chelsea stars.

Both fullbacks come from the Blues, with the reliable Cesar Azpilicueta taking the right flank and everyone’s favourite Fantasy Football player Marcos Alonso playing his trade down the left.

Laurent Koscielny is the only Gunner to stake a claim, with the Frenchman being the one consistently solid player in the Arsenal back line. So much so he gets the nod over David Luiz, with Rudiger partnering.

You’d think the Arsenal skipper will need to be on top form to keep Eden Hazard out. If he can, they have every chance.

Midfield

Kante, Torreira, Ramsey

Every midfield is better off with N’Golo Kante in their side and we’d place him in that holding role he’s become synonymous with.

His work rate is second to none, which would give Aaron Ramsey the freedom to move forward.

Ramsey has already played his final game for the Gunners, after picking up a hamstring injury. However, he’s still under contract with Arsenal so sneaks into our side.

He’s joined by Lucas Torreira who’s been a standout signing in recent years, joining from Sampdoria at the start of the season. He’s no nonsense and would form a real sturdy partnership with Kante.

Hazard, Aubameyang, Lacazette

Of course the front-line really does pick itself for our Chelsea and Arsenal combined 11. We’ve got Aubameyang leading the line following a season finishing joint top scorer in the Premier League.

He’ll be a real danger for Arsenal and an Aubameyang goal and Arsenal win can be snapped up at 3/1 with Ladbrokes.

On the right hand side we’ll see Eden Hazard, allowing him to cut inside and really cause problems. It could well be his last game for The Blues and in recent times when it has mattered he’s really delivered.

Hazard is 13/5 to score and Chelsea win, which looks a savvy bet and well worth a free bet.

Lacazette completes the trio. He’s always a danger and has found the goal 19 times this season. 20th in the final?
