Fantasy Football Tips and Advice for Gameweek 5
The international break is finally over and it’s time to look ahead to Premier League Fantasy Football gameweek 5. For the first time this season, none of last season’s top 6 face each other so there’s plenty of appealing options to look at when picking your team.
There will have been a lot of wildcards activated during the international break, but if you are still tinkering with your team ahead of GW5, Fabio has picked out some FPL advice for this week’s transfers.
Fantasy Football Goalkeepers and Defenders Tips
Many FPL managers expected a lot more from Liverpool’s defence in the opening weeks of the season. Having kept their first clean sheet against Burnley in gameweek 4, Liverpool now have Newcastle who have scored just three times this season. With a share of set piece duties and two assists so far, Trent Alexander-Arnold (7.1m) is the pick of the bunch but Adrian (4.6m) is a decent short-term option for those with their wildcard active.
An injury to Aymeric Laporte (6.5m) rules out the Frenchman for the foreseeable future and strengthens the appeal of Nicolas Otamendi (5.4m) with Norwich up next. The Argentine has started each of the last three and is a cheap route into a defence who have kept 20 clean sheets last season.

Fantasy Football Midfielders Tips Gameweek 5
There plenty of FPL options in the Manchester City ranks but one who has perhaps gone under the radar is David Silva (7.5m). The City playmaker has featured for just 91 minutes during the first two gameweeks, failing to register a goal or assist. The following two gameweeks brought two consecutive 10-point hauls in which Silva assisted four goals. With the Spaniard fully rested after a week off during the international break, Silva is a good option this week.
Dani Ceballos (5.7m) has played just 195 minutes in the opening four gameweeks but has looked threatening in the majority of those minutes. He put in a man of the match performance against Burnley, picking up two assists and could be a smart pick against 20th placed Watford.
Anthony Martial (7.7m) scored or assisted in each of his three games this season. The United attacker was ruled out of the trip to St Mary’s in Gameweek 4 and remains a doubt for Gameweek 5’s fixture against Leicester. A possible substitute appearance dents his appeal for the coming game.

Fantasy Football Striker Tips Gameweek 5
Moise Kean (6.8m) made his first start of the season in gameweek 4 in which he registered an assist for the opening goal. Everton struggled to score in the first three games, scoring just once against Watford. After Everton put three past Wolves, Marco Silva is likely to persist with Kean upfront in favour of Dominic Calvert-Lewin (5.9m). Kean could be a strong pick against Bournemouth who are yet to keep a clean sheet.
Alexander Lacazette (9.4m) has scored twice this season but is yet to play more than 70 minutes. The Arsenal forward has only started twice so far and is currently nursing a hamstring injury. His uncertain minutes make him a risky selection, despite the promising fixture against Watford.
How the thatsagoal.com Fantasy Football Team looks this week:
The wildcard was activated for the thatsagoal Fantasy Footy team this week with a number of changes made. I finally gave up on the Manchester United defence and took the opportunity to bring Otemendi into the team. Alexander-Arnold also returns. Lucas Digne has been in since gameweek 1.
In midfield, I have taken a slight gamble and removed Mo Salah, to replace him with Saido Mane. Martial is still in there and I’m keen to hold onto him even if he isn’t fit for this weekend. Everton’s Alex Iwobi also comes in. Upfront, I have kept Jamie Vardy in there but Callum Wilson has been replaced with Tammy Abraham and Ashley Barnes goes in as the third striker.
