Hellas Verona have emerged as one of the surprise teams in Serie A this season having recently entered the top six league positions and their home fixture with Cagliari features in this Sunday Accumulator alongside games from Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Switzerland. In the Spanish Segunda, Malaga host bottom team Racing Santander while Sporting Lisbon will hope to overcome mid-table Boavista in the Primeira Liga. The final selections involve out-of-form Sion travelling to Lugano and Anderlecht welcoming lowly Belgian outfit AS Eupen.
Having won just once in Spanish Segunda action since the beginning of December when surprisingly earning a 1-0 victory at Almeria, basement team Racing Santander are now seriously threatened with relegation. Racing have also failed to score more than one goal in any league fixture this year and now travel to Malaga with the hosts winning 1-0 at league leaders Cadiz in their previous game. The Andalusian based team are also unbeaten on home soil since mid-October and are tipped to win this encounter.
Unbeaten in Serie A action since mid-December when suffering an unfortunate 3-2 loss at Atalanta, Hellas Verona are now mounting a challenge to earn Europa League football for next season. A recent 2-0 victory against Juventus was particularly impressive and Hellas will now be seeking a fourth consecutive home victory when hosting Cagliari. The visitors are winless this year and last won an away match back in early November. Two successive 1-0 defeats are further concerns and the Verona team will probably collect all three points.
After building some momentum by winning three successive Portuguese Primeira Liga matches, Boavista returned to their old ways last time when beaten 2-1 on home soil by lowly Belenenses. The Porto based team had won just two of thirteen league matches prior to those three victories and they now travel to Lisbon with hosts Sporting fresh from beating Istanbul Basaksehir 3-1 in Thursday evening Europa League action. Sporting have also won five of seven previous domestic league fixtures on home soil with defeats suffered against Porto and Benfica in the other games. Another home win for Sporting Lisbon is forecasted.
Before last weekend’s fixture at Mechelen, Anderlecht had lost just twice in seventeen previous Belgian First Division fixtures, one of which included a 2-1 defeat by Club Brugge. However, the Brussels team were beaten 2-0 in their latest game although they were reduced to ten players for the second period and then conceded both goals. A home game against Eupen now awaits with the visitors losing their last two league contests after a brief rally in form. Five of six previous away matches in league action have also been lost by AS and they are likely to suffer another defeat.
After a promising start to their Swiss Super League campaign, Sion have plummeted down the league table with one victory earned since late September when beating bottom team Thun 2-1. Having lost seven consecutive league matches on the road, Sion now travel to Lugano with the hosts beating Young Boys on home soil last weekend. Although Lugano are not the most consistent of teams, they are capable of winning games and they should follow their latest impressive win by collecting another three points.
