Fiorentina came from a goal down to see off Sassuolo in midweek and immediately got themselves back to winning ways. They fell behind and looked second best throughout the majority of the match before an outstanding solo display from Gaetano Castrovilli earned all three points for the visitors. The Viola’s record at home has been mixed this season with a 2-1-2 record so far although they’ve only lost by a single goal margin to both Napoli and Lazio. They are more than competitive under Vincenzo Montella and they have a number of talented players in the final third. Parma sit comfortable in mid-table and have made a decent start to the campaign. They have lost 50% of their matches so far and it appears as though the majority of their points will come at home. On the road, they’ve beaten lowly Udinese, but have slipped up at both Lazio and SPAL. The hosts should have enough to collect three points in this one.
Genoa sit just outside the relegation zone and are desperately looking to put some distance between themselves and the bottom three. This looks like the ideal chance to move away from their fellow strugglers as they take on 14th placed Udinese. The visitors conceded four in midweek, and that makes it 11 goals shipped in their last two matches. Away from home, they’ve netted just a single goal in four outings and they could struggle against a Genoa side who are much more effective on their own patch. The hosts have already beaten Fiorentina and Brescia this season and almost got something from their matche against Juventus in midweek. They are looking like scoring every time they go forward and should be able to punish this ropey Udinese defence on Sunday.
Lazio sit fifth in the Serie A table and have made a decent start to the campaign. They were easy winners in midweek and have now netted 15 times in their last five outings. They’ve kept just two clean sheets in their last six games with both of those arriving at Stadio Olimpico. On the road, they’ve conceded in each of their last four matches and Inter are the only side to have prevented them from getting on the scoresheet. AC Milan are having a season to forget and they are now relying upon Stefano Pioli to try and salvage something from their wreck of a season. However, the Rossoneri are much better at home and despite their problems at the back, they’re usually good for a goal here. They drew 2-2 with Brescia and lost 1-3 to Fiorentina at the end of September. They are suceptible to set-pieces and that issue could be exploited once again here.
