Leeds continue their upward momentum and despite being knocked off top spot by West Brom’s victory at Deepdale, fans remain extremely positive about their side’s chances of promotion this season. The bookies have once again priced them up as odds-on favourite and they can be backed at 4/7 to collect three points on Saturday lunchtime. Huddersfield’s form has dropped off in recent weeks and they were hammered 5-2 at Ashton Gate on Saturday. The Cowleys are lacking in personel and a number of injuries haven’t made it easy for the new manager(s). They can be backed at around 5/1 to pick up their first win in five matches. Although there has been a significant improvement at the John Smith’s Stadium, Huddersfield fans can’t breathe a sigh of relief just yet. The Terriers are slowly edging themselves away from the dreaded dropzone, yet they are winless in four coming into this game and this could prove to be a tough afternoon for the hosts. Last weekend’s insipid display which saw them lost 5-2 at Bristol City was arguably their worst performance of the campaign and it’s something which must be addressed by the Cowleys. Despite the improvement in performances, Huddersfield have still only won twice at home and one of those victories came against bottom side Barnsley. Only the Tykes and Stoke have collected fewer points in front of their own fans and Leeds will be looking to take advantage of that. With a number of players still on the sidelines, the hosts face an uphill challenge and are likely to be without Danny Simpson, Tommy Elphick and Trevoh Chalobah for this game. Leeds battered Boro last weekend and were at their free-scoring best at Elland Road. The Whites have now won five in a row although they haven’t been able to finish sides off. However, they’ve been far more efficient on the road and have won five of their six matches against bottom half opposition. Marcelo Bielsa’s side have impressively conceded just six times away from home. Mateusz Klich was the star of the show last weekend and he will looking to cause plenty more mischief at the John Smiths Stadium.

Leeds are odds-on and it’s difficult to argue with that price. Huddersfield have just stepped off the pace lately, but that is hardly surprisingly given their injury crisis. The Whites had plenty of fitness issues to contend with last season, but they have kept the majority of their players fit this time around and a full strength XI is likely to be more than enough to sneak past their West Yorkshire rivals. Only one of Leeds’ ten away games have featured four or more goals so backing Leeds Win and Under 3.5 Goals is probably where the value lies here. It’s available at 23/20 with Betway and has landed in all five of their victories at bottom half opposition. Huddersfield are incredibly hard to beat at home and are undefeated in six outings here. Leeds will have to work hard to unlock them and backing the Whites to win by a 1 goal margin at 23/10 with Paddy Power may be another option in this encounter.
