Leeds vs Middlesbrough Betting Tips

This is a terrific game between two of the season’s outstanding teams in the Championship. Middlesbrough sneaked a 1-0 win against West Brom seven days ago but this will be a bit tougher for the Teessiders. Leeds have been in fantastic form this season but they came undone in midweek against Bolton in the EFL Cup. Marcelo Bielsa will demand high standards as always and in front of the home crowd, they should put in another big performance. It’s hard to see either of these two sides being defeated so this game looks likely to end all-square. The draw can be backed at 12/5 with Bet365 and that’s the first of this evening’s Leeds vs Middlesbrough betting tips.

Both Teams to Score Prediction

Middlesbrough kept yet another clean sheet last weekend and their well-drilled defence is faring well this season. They’ve kept Birmingham, Sheffield United and West Brom off the scoresheet so far but Leeds are a completely different proposition and are likely to cause a few problems for Boro. At the other end, I expect Leeds’ defence without Liam Cooper to concede at some point. The visitors have a plethora of attacking options including Jordan Hugill who found the net in midweek and they should prove dangerous from set-pieces once again. Both Teams to Score? Yes is a relatively short price but Sport Pesa are offering 10/13 which is a standout price.

Anytime Goalscorer Tip

There are a whole host of Leeds players who could get on the scoresheet in this encounter and they’ve been sharing the goals around so far this campaign. Kemar Roofe is the focal point but it’s the players in behind the former West Brom man who have been getting in on the act. Pablo Hernandez was decent enough last season but he’s looked like a player reborn under the Argentinian coach and he should be able to get on the scoresheet once again at a decent price of 7/2. The standout price is available at Betfair and is the third of our Leeds vs Middlesbrough predictions.

Leeds vs Middlesbrough Betting Preview

This match is exceptionally difficult to call with both sides having started the season in tremendous fashion. Due to being the home side, William Hill have priced Leeds up as the favourites for this tie and they are available at 6/5 to continue their upward momentum. Middlesbrough have been in equally decent nick and it’s hard to back against Boro in this one. They are priced at 11/5 to pick up a second consecutive away victory.

The hosts will be missing defender Liam Cooper who is sidelined through injury and he is joined by long-term absentees Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw with the latter not able to feature against his former employers.

Patrick Bamford will be hoping to feature against Middlesbrough after making the move to West Yorkshire in the summer. He is 9/2 to grab the first goal of the game.

Middlesbrough will be without Rudy Gestede who continues his recovery from injury but Mo Besic could be give his first start since returning to the club on loan from Everton.

The Teessiders have not won either of their last two visits to this ground and will be desperate to end that barren run. Leeds have been deadly in front of goal so far this season. They average 8.66 shots per game with around 60% of those being on target and Coral are offering 23/20 on Leeds to score 2+ goals.
