Reasons for Our Millwall vs Derby Predictions

Today’s football predictions begin with this game ending all-square. Derby have had a mixed start to life under Frank Lampard and will be determined to bounce back from a poor showing against Leeds last weekend. They were torn apart by Marcelo Bielsas men and need to recover quickly. They weren’t completely convincing against Reading on the opening day of the season but they are off the mark for the campaign and they possess plenty of young, talented players. Millwall are yet to collect maximum points but they’ve made themselves typically tough to beat and they almost got the better of Middlesbrough during their opening home match. That looks like a decent result, considering that Tony Pulis’ side have won their subsequent two games without conceding. The Lions were defeated just four times at home last season and Fulham are the only side since November 4th, 2017 to have left here with all three points. It’s hard to see them losing this. The first of our Millwall vs Derby predictions is Draw and it’s available at 23/10 with William Hill.

Derby are yet to keep a clean sheet this season and their defence is an area of concern. They were able to just about rescue the game against Reading but were unable to stop Leeds. Millwall were 2-0 up and gave away a sloppy goal against Middlesbrough and although they followed it up with a clean sheet, it’s hard to imagine them keeping Frank Lampard’s side off the scoresheet here. They’ve kept Derby off the score-sheet in each of their last two meetings here but I think this time, they’ll struggle to keep them out. Both Teams to Score? Yes is the second of our Millwall vs Derby predictions and is available at 4/5 with Betfred. You can use their £30 free bet on any of this weekend’s Championship predictions.

There are any number of different goal-scorers in the this game but Tom Lawrence has to be the pick. The set-piece specialists has netted in each of Derby’s opening two matches and has displayed versatility in his two strikes. He is available at 4/1 with Sport Pesa and that looks like terrific value. He didn’t settle particularly well last season but looks comfortable under Frank Lampard and is likely to start this game. Tom Lawrence to score anytime is the third of our Millwall vs Derby predictions and you can use their £10 free bet on this selection.

Millwall vs Derby Recommended Bets and Odds

Unsurprisingly, given their home form, Millwall are listed as the favourites in this clash and can be backed at 5/4 with Betfair. Derby can be backed at 9/4 but our bet prediction of Draw will be popular and is 9/4. Last season, it ended 0-0 here and a similar outcome could be considered. Under 2.5 Goals is available at 8/11 whilst a correct score of 0-0 can be found at 8/1. Lee Gregory, who netted on the opening weekend is available as the 9/2 favourite in the first goalscorer market.

Derby Team News vs Millwall

David Nugent and Curtis Davies both missed the game against Leeds with injuries and neither is likely to be back in time for this match. They will be joined by Ikechi Anya and Tom Huddlestone who are both sidelined.

Millwall Key Player vs Derby

Every Millwall player plays a crucial role and is a key part of Neil Harris’ side. Jed Wallace does add an element of creativity to proceedings and is often partial to a long-distance strike. He is a class act.

Derby Key Player vs Millwall

Our anytime goalscorer pick of Tom Lawrence has been excellent so far and he is ably assisted by Mason Mount who has impressed since arriving on loan from Chelsea. He is flourishing under Lampard’s tutelage.
