This is a massive match for both of these sides – Ukraine can move onto seven points having already played their toughest game of the group away at Portugal, and Serbia can get themselves onto four points having only played one game so far, a creditable draw away in Portugal. These sides look quite well matched on paper, however Ukraine need to be wary following their close shave against Luxembourg, where they fell behind and almost didn’t win the game. Serbia are on a good run of form at the moment and they’ll want to get themselves in the mix for qualification with a win here.

In their last Euro 2020 qualifier, Ukraine fell behind in Luxembourg before being rescued by a 93rd minute own goal. Luxembourg are an improving nation but there is now way they should be troubling Ukraine and that will be a big concern for manager Andriy Shevchenko. His side did manage a 0-0 draw in Portugal which was a good result to get their qualifying campaign underway.

There are sme big names missing from the Ukraine squad for this match including West Ham’s Andriy Yarmolenko who has been out injured for the majority of the season. He is a big miss for Shevchenko as he provides both goals and creative threat. Other names not in the squad include Denys Boyko, Artem Shabanov, Serhiy Sydorchuk, Ivan Petryak and Serhiy Bolbat though either injury or not being selected.

The Serbs come into this match in a great run of form and they’ll be looking to pick up another positive result in Ukraine. They have not lost since the World Cup and were impressive in the Nations League, winning four and drawing two of their matches.

Dusan Tadic enjoyed a brilliant season domestically for Ajax, helping them to the Dutch title and the Champions League semi-finals. He also scored in the 1-1 draw with Portugal in their opening Euro 2020 qualifying match. Alexsandar Mitrovic will lead the Serbia line after enjoying a good season with Newcastle.
