Saturday League Two Betting Tips

 

Bradford vs Newport County – Bradford Win

The Bantams were in action last weekend, picking up a point at Moss Rose. Gary Bowyer’s side are formidable at home however and should return to winning ways on Saturday. The West Yorkshire side are averaging 2.11 points per game at Valley Parade and they should be able to pick up another victory against a Newport side who aren’t quite firing on all cylinders. The Welsh side snuck past non-league opposition in the FA Cup last weekend, but in L2, they’ve lost three in a row and haven’t scored more than a single goal in any of their last four matches. The Exiles have somehow beaten the top two sides on the road, yet they have failed to beat the likes of Walsall, Cambridge and Macclesfield. The hosts have scored 15 goals at this venue and have only been defeated here twice (vs FGR and Port Vale). It seems unlikely that Bowyer’s men will draw a blank, having scored in 13 consecutive matches and Newport will have to be at their very best in order to collect three points.

 

Stevenage vs Crawley – Stevenage Win

Stevenage have undoubtedly improved under Mark Sampson and they’ve strengthened at the back. A few tweaks have resulted in three consecutive clean sheets in the fourth tier and their only recent defeat came against high-flying Swindon (by a single goal). No side has scored more than a single goal against them in their last six L2 fixtures and managerless Crawley could find it tough to break them down. Gabrielle Cioffi has departed the south coast following a six game winless run. They have netted in each of their last four away matches, yet have collected just a single point in that sequence. They are yet to keep a clean sheet on their travels and only two sides have secured fewer points on the road this season. Overall, the Red Devils have conceded ten more goals than today’s opponents and their leaky back-line could gift the game to the in-form hosts here.

 

Grimsby vs Swindon – Swindon Win

High-flying Swindon will look to continue their excellent recent run of results when they visit Blundell Park on Saturday. The Robins are looking for their sixth consecutive victory and have now scored seven goals in their last two away fixtures. Richie Wellens’ side have scored in every single contest away from Wiltshire and only Forest Green have collected more points on the road so far. Grimsby sacked Michael Jolley a couple of weeks ago and scoring has been a problem in recent outings. They’ve netted in just 50% of their home games have scored just nine goals on their own patch. They did hold Cheltenham to a goalless draw last time out, but they could it difficult to keep Swindon off the score-sheet. The visitors have netted four more than times than the (other) Robins and are far more prolific on the road.
