Mansfield vs Grimsby – Mansfield Win

Graham Coughlan’s Mansfield are slowing improving and a Nicky Maynard hat-trick got them out of jail on New Years Day. They’ve now avoided defeat in four of their last five League Two games. They’ve also scored six times in their last four games. Prior to that, it had taken them secen games to score the same amount. They’ve had some very tough home games recently with Colchester, Salford, Port Vale and Northampton all visiting Field Mill, however this should be a little easier. Grimsby are under new management and Ian Holloway’s passion will surely galvanise Blundell Park. However, his side could struggle on the road, and lack goals. They’ve failed to score in three of their last four away trips and although they should be able to find a way past the Stags’ back-line, they are likely to be seen off by an improving home side.

Scunthorpe vs Plymouth –  Both Teams to Score? Yes

Scunthorpe are now deeply entrenched in midtable and although they took a while to get going this season, they are always likely to score at Glanford Park. Since the end of August, only two sides have managed to keep them off the scoresheet and Plymouth are unlikely to add their name to that exclusive list. The Pilgrims are in superb form and Ryan Lowe’s side were only just edged out by high flying Swindon on Wednesday. They’ve netted in seven of their last eight games and they appear to have the found the right balance in the final third. The last three meetings between these sides have ended 2-2, 2-3 and 1-4 and another entertaining encounter is likely to take place in Lincolnshire this weekend.

Cheltenham vs Oldham – Cheltenham Win

The Robins are the division’s draw specialists and they have often struggled to finish sides off this season. Mike Duff’s side have struggled for goals since Luke Varney picked up an injury, but games don’t come much easier than this. Oldham are in dissaray at the moment and they picked up yet another disappointing result last time out. The Latics have conceded six goals in their last two matches and were incredibly sloppy at the back. The hosts may be struggling for cutting edge, but they may not have to create too much in order to edge out the visitors here. There are rarely many goals when these two sides meet and just a single goal could win it for Cheltenham this weekend.
