Champions League Betting Tips for Tuesday 10th December’s Fixtures

The Champions League group stages reach it’s conclusions this week and there is still a lot to be decided across the eight groups. Liverpool and Chelsea are still not assured of qualification but Man City and Tottenham are through, with City sure to top their group.

The teams already qualified for the last 16 are: Barcelona (group winners), Bayern München (group winners), Juventus (group winners), Leipzig, Manchester City (group winners), Paris Saint-Germain (group winners), Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur.

All the following teams cannot qualify: Benfica, Club Brugge, Crvena Zvezda, Galatasaray, Genk, Lokomotiv Moskva, LOSC Lille, Olympiacos, Slavia Praha.

Inter Milan vs Barcelona Betting Tip: Inter to win to nil @ 2/1

The first of my Champions League predictions for this week’s games comes from Italy and I’m betting on Inter Milan to beat Barcelona to nil. On first viewing this might be a strange looking tip, but Barca have already won the group and they’ve left a few first team regulars out of the squad for this one, including Lionel Messi.

Inter Milan are still not assured of qualification to the last 16 and they need a win to be sure. Borussia Dortmund are currently level on points with Inter so any slip-up from them will likely see Dortmund take the second qualifying place and leave Inter Milan in the Europa League. Inter have already beaten Dortmund 2-0 at home in the Champions League this season.

Barcelona have failed to score in two of their five group stage fixtures so far, drawing 0-0 at home to Slavia Prague and also drawing 0-0 in Germany against Borussia Dortmund. With changes to the team and nothing to play for, I’m predicting the Barca players will take their foot off the gas for this one and allow Inter Milan to get the points they need to qualify.

Chelsea vs Lille Betting Tip: Chelsea win and BTTS @ 8/5

Group H is one of the most complicated when it comes to who can qualify – but with Ajax playing Valencia, Chelsea know that if they beat Lille they will be through. They’ll also progress if they draw and Valencia lose to Ajax. For my UCL betting tip on this game, I’m going for a Chelsea win with both teams scoring. Lampard’s team are struggling to keep clean sheets and that was outlined perfectly in the amazing 4-4 draw against Ajax last time out. They’ve conceded three against Everton in their last match and Lille have finally found some form, winning their last three matches 1-0.

Chelsea cannot afford any more slip-ups here but they’ve conceded in four of their last five home matches and I’m predicting the same thing to happen against Lille, but with the firepower of Tammy Abraham they should win the match.

Lyon vs RB Leipzig Betting Tip: Over 3.5 Goals @ 6/4

The last betting tip for Tuesday night’s matches comes from France and I’m betting on goals in the Lyon vs RB Leipzig game. Both of these sides are still in with a chance of winning the group but Leipzig have already qualified. They will win the group with a draw. Lyon need to win this match to qualify, or a draw would be enough if Zenit beat Benfica.

Leipzig’s last four away matches have finished 2-3, 2-4, 0-2 and 1-6 (all wins) so I’m hoping they’ll be in free scoring form again here and Lyon should also get on the scoresheet given Leipzig’s defensive record shows they have only kept one clean sheet in their last six away matches.

Lyon won 4-0 themselves at the weekend and both teams have scored in two of their last three at home so all the signs in this one point to an open game with a few goals.
