Dinamo Moscow haven’t got off to a good start in the Russian Premier League, and have collected just a single point from their opening two matches. A stunning goal gave them the lead at Arsenal Tula, before they were pegged back late on. That was a respectable result, however their 1-0 home collapse to Rubin Kazan was hugely concerning. Evgeny Bashkirov’s second yellow meant that the visitors played over 50 minutes with ten men, yet they still somehow found a way through. Dinamo have opportunities in that game, and they saw plenty of the ball, but their lack of firepower is one area in which they could undoubtedly improve. They are back at home today, and will be looking for an instant reprieve. They have a decent squad, and certainly have players capable of being match-winners. They have a good record against Ural, and lead the head-to-head 5-2, which is something to cling onto.

Ural have had a fantastic start to the campaign, and they are riding high on six points. However, both games have been at home, and this will be their first real test of the campaign. Including the end of the 2018-19 campaign, Ural have now won five in a row, and they are scoring goals for fun. Overall, their away form is nothing to shout about, but they are solid enough on the road. Yuri Bavin and Eric Bicfalvi both have two goals so far this campaign, and they will be looking to add to their early season tallies. Ural are playing with plenty of confidence, and are the highest scorers in the league at this embryonic stage of the season. They’ve lost just two of the last eleven games, and they will be expecting to leave the capital with somethign to show for it.

Although this is their first away trip of the season, I think it’s reasonable to keep Ural on your side in this game. They are playing with confidence, and although there are questions over the quality of their back-line, they do move the ball forward with real urgency. Dinamo look a little short on confidence on the final third, and they probably need a lucky deflection or two to get them off the mark. They do have a good record against Ural, but last weekend’s defeat doesn’t inspire confidence. Ural to Win or Draw is odds-against on the double chance market, and that looks like a very sensible way to play. The RPL is rife for draws, and this one could easily end all-square, but it’s safer to have two of the three outcomes on your side.

The Russian top flight is not renowned for its high-scoring games, but this season has produced a number of high-scoring encounters already. Five of the eight games ended with both sides finding the back of the net last weekend, and I expect this game to be an entertaining one. Ural have netted six times, and conceded twice, whilst Dinamo haven’t kept a clean sheet in either of their two games. The hosts failed to score last week, but they did have enough of the play to suggest that they shouldn’t draw blanks too often. Both Teams to Score? Yes is odds-against, and looks a great bet.
