Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds Predictions

Today’s football betting tips come from Hillsborough with a fascinating Yorkshire derby taking place between Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds. The visitors unbeaten run was ended by Birmingham last weekend and Marcelo Bielsa’s side will need to pick themselves up for this crucial fixture. They are suffering a number of injury problems with the likes of Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe both missing games recently. They have won just two of their last six Championship matches with one of those victories coming against struggling Preston. The Whites have made an incredible start to the season but they won’t be able to keep up this tempo throughout the entire campaign and I worry about them in this contest. They have been priced up as favourites for this game but the Owls are looking extremely dangerous at the moment. Sheffield Wednesday beat Villa 2-1 at the weekend and have won four of their last six games in the league. They dropped points at the City Ground but are unbeaten at home so far. A team who can boast the fourth best form in the Championship should not be available at 5/2 with Bet365 and we will take advantage of that generous price. They’ve won three of their last five meetings with Leeds at this ground and the home side are the first of our Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds predictions.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds Both Teams to Score Odds

Barry Bannan has been running the show recently for Sheffield Wednesday and they’ve looked extremely effective going forward but there is one major issue which has been plaguing the Owls. Their defence is yet to keep a clean sheet this season and although it took a wonder goal from John McGinn to unlock their back-line, they always look susceptible at the back. Leeds have netted in eight of their nine Championship matches so far with only watertight Middlesbrough keeping them off the score-sheet. Bielsa’s side had the better chances in that game and should have found the back of the net. Sheffield Wednesday have also only failed to score once this season and this could be a cracker. Both Teams to Score is priced at 7/10 with Ladbrokes and is the second of our Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds predictions for tonight’s fixture.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds Anytime Goalscorer Odds

The third of our football predictions for the Championship this evening is taken from the anytime goalscorer market. Gary Hooper has a great record of netting against Leeds but the striker isn’t fit to participate here. Lucas Joao is likely to play some part in this game and he has netted two of his three goals this season in front of the home fans. The Portuguese forward is one of a number of players who have seemingly improved this season and he’s perfectly capable of a moment of magic here. He’s gone three games without a goal but he can end that drought with a strike against the Whites. Lucas Joao to score anytime is the third of our Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds betting tips and is available at 19/10 with William Hill.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds Betting Preview

Sheffield Wednesday Win – 5/2

Draw  – 5/2

Leeds Win – 6/5

Leeds are favourites for this clash despite being the away side. The Whites have been excellent so far this campaign under Marcelo Bielsa but they slipped up last weekend for the first time. Sheffield Wednesday ended last season well and they have carried on where they left off with some terrific performances so far this campaign. The Owls can be backed at 5/2 with the draw available at exactly the same price.

Lucas Joao is the pick of our football tipster but Barry Bannan has also made a habit of netting in home games. Both of his strikes have been blockbusters and they’ve been at Hillsborough. He’s available at 16/1 to net the first goal of the game. Adam Reach, who is already off the mark for the campaign is also available at this price. For Leeds, Tyler Roberts is likely to lead the line once again and he is available at 6/1 to net the opener.

Goals are expected in this encounter and this all-Yorkshire clash tends to produce some memorable encounters. There have been at least two goals in five of the last six games between this pair and it’s 9/10 for Over 2.5 Goals in this season’s meeting. It’s 4/6 for Both Teams to Score in this one. Both sides have only failed to score once this campaign.
