I’m backing Croatia to defeat Wales in this one, following their excellent World Cup campaign. The Croats got to the semi-final of the World Cup, losing to eventual winners Argentina 3-0 at that stage of the competition. They went on to beat Morocco in the third place play-off with a 2-1 victory. They have a better squad overall than the Welsh do, and I think they’ll come out on top here. Wales lost all but one of their three games at the World Cup with a 1-1 draw with the USA, a 2-0 defeat to Iran and a 3-0 defeat to England. I don’t think they’ll have enough to take anything off Croatia here.

Ivan Perisic hadn’t lit the heather alight in the white of Tottenham Hotspur, however he’s often returned the goods in the red and white checks of the Croatian National Team. His last goal for Croatia came in a 1-1 draw with Japan at the World Cup, and I think he will take his chance in this one as the Croats set the sights on another successful campaign in a major tournament. He is excellent odds to score in this one.

I think this one will be an exciting game between two teams who managed to make it to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Wales didn’t have as successful a campaign as Croatia did, however, they can still match some of the best teams and I think there’s goals in this one, potentially coming from both teams. I think both teams will be quick out the blocks and I’m backing over two goals in the match.
