Czech Republic vs England prediction and betting tips for the Euro 2020 qualifying fixture on Friday 11th October. England are on the brink of securing their place at the tournament next summer and a win in Prague will all but seal that for certain.
England’s attacking prowess has been on show in this qualifying campaign, they have scored 19 goals in their four matches. Making them the joint top scorers with Belgium who have played more matches. Defence is where the main concern is though, as illustrated again when conceding three against Kosovo last time out.

The Czech Republic are not the force that they used to be but they do have some talented players in their squad so it was a bit of a surprise when they capitulated at Wembley in the reverse fixture, losing 5-0. Since then they have won three of their other four matches to take second place in the group, but newcomers Kosovo are hot on their heels and those two sides play in what could be a vital fixture next month.
England have cruised through qualifying so far, as they often do. They’ve already beaten Montenegro 5-1 away from home but they do have three away matches remaining because of their participation in the Nations League latter stages. So although they wills till qualify, this will be seen as their toughest assignment in the group and they still have to play Bulgaria away on Monday before travelling to Kosovo for the last fixture of qualifying.
England’s odds to win this match are 1/2 but for the first of our Czech Republic vs England predictions, we are going for England to win and BTTS. They were sloppy against Kosovo last time out and conceded three goals, and were also breached in Montenegro. The Czech Republic have a decent record in front of goal also, they beat Montenegro 3-0 away last time out and beat the same opposition 3-0 at home. Jaroslav Šilhavý’s side have scored at least once in 16 of their last 20 matches so Gareth Southgate’s men will have to be on their guard attacking the attacking threat. England should still have far too much quality going forward with the likes of Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho, so we’re fully expecting an England victory in this one.
Raheem Sterling has made a fine start to the season for Manchester City, scoring seven Premier League goals in six matches already. The winger has also scored in the Champions League, League Cup and Community Shield already as well as getting six goals in England’s four Euro 2020 qualifying fixtures so far. That included a hat-trick when these sides met at Wembley and we’re betting on Sterling to get the first goal of the match in Prague this week. He has scored in England’s last two qualifiers and will be vital to the side in the European Championships next summer. Supported by Jadon Sancho on the other flank, Harry Kane has two fantastic wingers to feed off in this team and if all three can stay fit and have a good season domestically, who knows how far England will go at Euro 2020. For this match, Sterling to score first is the second of our Czech Republic vs England predictions and the odds are 9/2 with Unibet.
Our earlier prediction of England to win and both teams to score means we’re expecting the hosts to get on the scoresheet in this match, and that paves the way for a correct score tip. Even though the Czech Republic have only lost at home three times in their last 13 matches, they have only won seven of those and none of those victories have come against anybody in the same class as England. Despite this, they have scored in the three matches they have lost (against Brazil, Ukraine and Germany) so a 3-1 scoreline looks a good bet in this one. England’s forwards will be too strong for the Czech Republic but the obvious weakness in the Three Lions defence is a concern.
