Slavia Prague vs Chelsea betting tips, predictions and preview for tonight’s Europa League quarter final first leg match in the Czech Republic. Chelsea are favourites to win the match but their Czech opponents will be no pushovers tonight. See our predictions and betting tips below.
Chelsea will be looking to score away goals in Prague tonight, but Slavia are a strong side.
The hosts knocked Sevilla out in the last round, although they needed extra-time to do it.
The Czech side are currently top of their domestic lead and have scored 10 in their last two matches.
Olivier Giroud has been the go to man for Maurizio Sarri in this competition and he’s already got nine Europa League goals to his name this season. Chelsea have breezed through the competition so far and will expect to go all the way to the final in Baku.
Eden Hazard has only played a bit part in the competition but he’ll surely start tonight, and will be looking to follow up his two goals on Monday night against West Ham.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has finally been getting his chance in the Chelsea starting line-up and he’ll probably be in from the start again tonight and his odds to score anytime are best price 14/5 at Unibet. Eden Hazard is 6/4 and Olivier Giroud is a 33/20 shot with the same firm.
From a Slavia Prague view point, their top scorer this season is Miroslav Stoch, who’s 11/2 to score tonight, but his teammate Milan Skoda is the shortest Slavia Prague player in the betting, at 16/5 with Paddy Power.
For our Slavia Prague vs Chelsea anytime goalscorer tip tonight, we’re keeping things quite simple and betting on Frenchman Olivier Giroud to keep up his great scoring form in the Europa League and get on the scoresheet in tonight’s game.
Tonight’s hosts currently sit top of the Czech Liga, with a seven point gap over second placed Viktoria Plzen. This gap had widened thanks to Slavia dropping just two points in their last six league matches and that brings them into tonight’s quarter final in fantastic form.
Their win over Sevilla in the last 16 came after both matches ended 2-2, before they ran out 4-3 winners after extra-time.
It is quite obvious they are a class above most of their opponents domestically, but in the Europa League they have been stopped from scoring on a few occasions this season including twice at home, however, the two 2-2 draws against Sevilla gives us hope they’ll at least get a goal tonight.
Chelsea haven’t really been tested so far in this tournament and breezed past Dynamo Kiev 8-0 on aggregate in the last round. That tie was over after the 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge so the scoreline probably flattered the Premier League side a little bit. They had conceded in each of their previous two away matches before that 5-0 win in Kiev.
The last of tonight’s betting tips is a correct score and we’re expecting Chelsea to get a lead to take back to Stamford Bridge tonight. The hosts haven’t been beaten at home since August but they did fail to score in the group stages against both Genk and FC Copenhagen, so Chelsea should expect to win tonight.
The correct score prediction we’re going for here is a 2-1 Chelsea victory and the odds for this are 15/2 with Bet Victor.
Slavia Prague to win – 19/4
Draw – 14/5
Chelsea to win – 7/10
