MK Dons vs Mansfield Betting Tips

Neither of these two sides has been in any sort of promotion winning form recently, with Mansfield arriving off the back of successive defeats. The Stags were caught out by a late Ilias Chair goal against Stevenage after getting back on level terms, and they were beaten at Boundary Park just seven days earlier. David Flitcroft’s side certainly have plenty of talent in their squad, and crucially, they have plenty of firepower, but they’ve looked far from assured at the back.

Away from Field Mill, they’ve struggled recently and have won just once since January 19th on their travels. That victory came against play-off chasing Exeter. There is an unpredictability about them this season, but they’re also capable of turning up for the big occasions.

In CJ Hamilton, they have one of the fastest players in the division, Tyler Walker is a reliable operator in front of goal, whilst Neal Bishop brings years of experience to the table.

MK Dons have won just one of their last four matches here, and Paul Tisdale’s men also appear to be stumbling towards the finishing line. They missed a penalty in their recent 1-1 draw here with Port Vale, whilst they were easily swept aside by Colchester seven days ago.

At home, they’ve won three of the last six, although two of those came against Yeovil and Crawley. They beat Bury in their opening home game of the campaign, but since then only Carlisle and Exeter (of the top ten) have left with nothing.

The last meeting ended all-square, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a similar outcome. Neither side can boast a tremendous recent record, and this could be a game which lurches one way before sharply veering in the opposite direction. A draw would send Mansfield up, and that may be the outcome.

MK Dons vs Mansfield Goals Prediction

Mansfield’s back-line has left plenty to be desired in recent weeks, but surprisingly across the season, they’ve conceded nine fewer goals than today’s opponents.

MK Dons were recognised for being defensively strong at the beginning of the season, but they’ve kept just one clean sheet in ten games coming into this one, and that came against now-relegated Yeovil Town. Tisdale’s side have found the net in seven of their last eight home matches, and have the personnel to find a way through.

BTTS has landed in six of Mansfield’s last eight games, and they arrive here off the back of conceding five goals in their last two matches. They’ve managed just a single clean sheet on their travels since NYD, and with both sides going for it, this should be a very entertaining 90 minutes for neutrals.

MK Dons vs Mansfield Anytime Goalscorer Prediction

The aforementioned Tyler Walker looks like the best option in the anytime goalscorer market. He’s netted in his last two games, and has scored 26 in all competitions this season. He recently netted twice against Exeter at St.James’ Park, and the club have undoubtedly relied on his goals this season.
